No one? I looked in the back of White Dwarf but I am unfamiliar with the area. Some of the stores I located seemed heavily into the historical stuff with no 40k on the calander .

You might want to try Schedule a Game section doesnt get frequented as much but i think that is where this should go.

There's a good shop in Woodbridge called the Game Parlor, should be about 45 minutes North for you.

There was another shop closer to Quanico but I've not been there since 2007 and can't recall the name.

Game Parlor has two locations, one in Woodbridge (not far from Quantico) and Chantilly. They currently have a pay-to-play policy that means you either buy a minimum amt of stuff or you pay $2/person if you don't meet the minimum purchase requirement to get to play 'for free'.

Eagle & Empire is close to Ft Belvoir (not too very far off Route 1 if you go North from Quantico) but farther than Woodbridge Game Parlor. It's a smaller place with an older gaming crowd but they play 40k, WHFB, FoW and a number of other games. 40k is Friday nights (7pm to close); FoW is Wednesday nights; WHFB is Thursday nights (7pm to close).

Game Vault in Fredericksburg is my favorite of the three store brands. They don't have a pay for play policy, have a good stock of lots of minis wargames and I personally really like the owners and the crowd. A younger crowd at times but they often stay open later on the weekends. Here's their website with directions and a forum for getting into games there.

Thank you all I appreciate it. I doupt I wont make the free play lol. I drop 100-200 on 40k a pay day so I should be good. I plan to finish my Orks at about 6k so I can play any of the popular builds, Kann Wall, Green Tide and Mek. Then I want to move on to Eldar. All my stuff is fully painted before it is placed on a board. I doupt the Eldar will be done before I leave though I want to do senic resin basis and put a lot of work into them. Thank you so much everyone.

There's a Games Workshop near the game parlor in Chantilly at the Fair Oaks Mall. I've have a good time, and the only time I've ever had problems are when this annoying little kid who likes ignoring rules plays. The rest of the guys there are great though. I prefer the GW shop to the Game Palor. I went to Game Palor and the guy who worked there looked at me like I disgusted him or something... kind of creepy...

I live in Harrisonburg VA and we have a pretty solid player base that does casual night every Thursday with a regular 5-10 turnout, tournaments the third Saturday of every month. Lostshade.com is the store's site, though I'm not sure exactly how far Harrisonburg is from Quantico.

I game with the Iron Fist League.

On Tuesday evenings at the Game Parlor in Woodbridge, which is a really nice store and you don't have to pay to play as long as you spend $20 there, there are upwards to 30 people. Gaming goes on there on Saturdays as well.

One of the members, Doug McNaron, is running a 40k Challenge Pyramid and it's been going strong for the last 5 months.

Go to http://www.ironfistleague.com if you'd like to schedule a game with the folks there.

The space at the Game Parlor is really nice but I could imagine the people that work there to be a little weird if you've not known them for a long time. For what it's worth I find the service to be a lot better at Chantilly than in Woodbridge. But as far as clean stores with good hours and bright lights I've yet to find a store to compete with Game Parlor.

The Game Vault is also excellent. The people that work there are awesome and it's a nice enough store, I just don't like the lay out as well as the Game Parlor. You can't go wrong there, though.

If you'd ever like to get a game in just shoot me a PM. The DC Metro area is really spoiled with options, though, as there are plenty of Games Workshop stores, two Game Parlors, Eagle and Empire, The Game Vault, Dream Wizards, Games Comics and Things, and a few others.

Good luck!
Casey
