I thought of this idea, as I think that the grenades could provide an excelent way to make life difficult for swarm creatures, and add some much needed tactical guessing.

Idea one:

"fixed position"
Weapon : RA S AP type
frag grenade g6" 3 - assault 1, blast, limited fire alternative fire. NLOS, pinning
krak grenade g4" 5 4 assault 1, limited fire non-blast scatter alternative fire. NLOS
melta grenade g3" 7 1 assault 1, limited fire, non-blast scatter, melta alternative fire. NLOS

Limited fire: after firing, roll a D6. on a 1,2,3,4, squad may not fire again. 5,6, squad may fire again.
Alternative fire: one unit in the squad may use a grenade instead of firing in any other way.
Non-blast scatter: resolve as 1d3 w/ scatter dice. if the grenade scatters, the grenade hits under where the scatter takes it.
N LOS: does not require line-of-sight.
'g' you will have to guess range.
good idea? bad idea?

thoughts?

I realise it makes it more 'complicated'
but it adds an influence of tactical assault
Note: If a unit with grenades fires like this, then charges and fails his limited fire test, he may not get the benefits of assault grenades.
note: maximum of 3 grenades.

Why bother having to Guess, when the ranges are so small?
Guessing tends to be incredibly interesting when the numbers are larger.
