These are the models I have and the army I am going to give a try with next week. I had two squads or Harlies and Maugan Ra in army this week but niether sqaud of mimes made it into CC and Maugna Ra took plenty of shots and fired plenty of shots but did not deliver. I am scaling back the harlies to one full troop and not taking Maugan Ra. Instead I am looking foward taking the scorpions and thier Phoenix Lord for a go. I figure with both being able to infiltrate (I took an exarch just to get the skill so i could infiltrate as a combined unit) I could use them to tie up as many units as possible until the harlies run there and level anyone left. Fire Prisms anti tank/vehicle/horde, Warwalkers anti infantry. I need one more SC but a Plasma EML has the reach and the blast is like getting 4 shots. Please let me know what you think.

Foot slogging is a slow way to die.
Your army is too light on troops.
FD's will hardly get to their target when foot slogging.

your heavy support choices are a ok, don't take warp spiders and swooping hawks cause you need a lot more transports especially for your DA and fire dragons. don't give the dragons an exarch 6 is enough

Don't:
- take the exarch with fire dragons, not worth the points.

- take Shadowstrike with scorpion exarch, attach the scorpion unit to Karandras to give the unit Shadowstrike and place it in reserves.

- take a troupe master, he isn't worth the points for 1 more attack. Also don't take Fusion pistols, you need a 3 inch range to 2D6 a vehicle and when it explodes you'll lose half your unit.

- take PW/SS in the DA squad because if you get the DA in CC they are dead, let alone a 6 man unit of DA.

- take the one EML with the Warwalkers, BS means 50% to whiff that single shot

- take Phoenix Lords in general, all of them are ridiculously overcosted for what they can do. For this type of list Avatar works well and you can't go wrong with more farseer.

Do:

- take a exarch with the swooping hawks... they are nearly useless without one. My suggestion is Sunrifle and Skyleap.

- buy wave serpents

The fire dragons need a transport to get into range. The firepike would help, but thats only one weapon out of 5 in range. Tank hunters is also a waste with meltas and over kill, plus you cannot get in range anyway.

5 striking scorpions won't last long.

Problem is some of the units are minimum so won't last long and odd choices for a foot slogging army.

I'm not a fan of foot-dar but have a look at this:

The avatar gives fearless to the guardians so they don't run, warlocks gives them a cover save as well. Scorpions have two units for unit reduandancy. You have fire prisms for long ranged fire power.

Pad out the list as you like, but foot-dar is a old tried and tested list and doesn't work as good as it used to. Its a worn tactic and battle plan now, though still may do the job

Well, if you run an Avatar, you need a Farseer to fortune him.
This would make him much more durable.

Aye you would. The list still needs padding out and farseer would be one unit. Thats just bare bones given with ranged fire power.

Well, you could stick the Farseer to a Guardian Defender unit led by Warlock with embolden.
This would allow the Farseer to reroll failed psychic tests.
Conceal is redundant if you can deploy the unit into cover.
