Well, it's been out for a fair while now, so I assume a lot of people have played through the entire game at least once. How have people gone with it? What major plot options, party members, etc, did you choose?
Personally, I'm playing a Human Noble Warrior focused on Dual Wielding with specialisations in Templar and Berzerker. At first it was really hard to keep a balance between strength and dexterity, but now he's an total beast in melee. I've got him wearing the full Juggernaut set and dual-wielding The Veshialle (an awesome Legendary axe) and Oathkeeper (a neat longsword), and both weapons have their own kind of elemental damage, so I can deal with pretty much any type of enemy. Mages are still as annoying as ever, but I've got Holy Smite from the Templar skill line and it's great for killing mages.
I have every party member except for Wynne (who I didn't get because I purged the Circle of Magi) and Loghain, who I haven't encountered yet and I plan to execute him anyway. Shale is awesome, by the way. Makes a great tank with Stoneheart activated and can also do a good job at crowd control with Pulverising Blows and Quake.
How about you, then?
People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Well, the farthest I ever got was playing an Elf Mage (Specializing in Primal magic)...after which I realized that the combat was so dull I couldn't stand to play it anymore. Made it past the tower at Ostagar, then took it off my computer to free up space (Thankfully I didn't actually buy the game, borrowed it from a friend).
My Armies:
Kal'reia Sept Tau - Farsight Sympathizers Da Great Looted Waaagh! The Court of the Wolf Lords
Beat it once as a dual-wielding Human Noble Rogue with specializations in Assassin, and Duelist. Always used two daggers in order to focus on dexterity, and cunning. The attack speed bonus from high Dex combined with all the various back stab talents from the Assassin and baseline Rogue trees lead to insane damage; increasing further with the use of poisons.
Also, with the high dex, and various evasion talents he was more than capable of going head up with nearly anyone. I never calculated it, but it seemed like he got hit about once every 5 attacks. Turned out to be a pretty good e-tank in combination with Dual Weapon Sweep.
Started a second play through as a Mage, and planned to specialize as an Arcane Warrior and Blood Mage. Had to let that drop after all my DLC refused to recognize my authentication keys.
Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh.
I enjoy it. I've beaten it once with the Human Noble. On my second playthrough (This time with Blood Dragon armour, now that Bioware got their Sh**ty site sorted out and cleaned out the URL problems with the renewal codes.
I think my biggest problem is that after the intro chapter is done for each origin, the game plays out the same all the way across, with only a few minor deviations.
If the story were more open-ended, I think the game would be a lot more enjoyable. Also, a more freerange world is a MUST. None of this "Map with blips" travel. Just makes the game feel too narrow. I would've much rather explored Ferelden than just hopped from map location to map location.
I Usually run my Party with Allistar, Wynn, and Morrigan. That combo usually wipes things out very quickly.

That High Dragon?
First time facing it at something like level 8--it was killed, with no party members lost.
Actually, I was -really- disappointed with this fight too. It wasn't hard at all - just use the Magi allies if you saved the tower, and then just drop it with frost spells and frost weapons. Keep your distance and it'll focus on the Magi, leaving you free to shoot the piss out of it, and (if you're gutsy enough), jump into melee (Though this will bring your melee units to it's attention).
Ten minutes tops and it'll be almost certainly be dead.
Im a human warrior with full blood dragon armor. My team consists of
Me(sheild and axe
Shale(just her bare hands
leliana(cross bow
morrigan( magic.
works well.
im just trying to figure out how whether to replace blood dragon with legion of the dead.
-to many points to bother to count.

I think Kanluwen is talking about the High Dragon that the cultists worship, not the Archdemon at the end of the game.

Ah. Suprisingly that thing was actually -harder- than the Archdemon.
Yea. I know. W...T...F...
Still found an easy way to kill it though.
You know that little column circle with the low wall around it? Position someone in there and use a ranged attack to draw it's attention. It'll move to attack the person in there, and then you pull said unit out of the ruin. You then attack it with your Melee units and keep your casters on the outside, pew-pewing the thing with template spells.
When it goes to dive outside again, reverse roles. It'll get all gakked out and confused again.
Makes the fight insanely simple, but it's still mind-numbingly long

You can then have the best parts of the warrior and mage classes. I just walked around with a sword I found call Spellweaver (Arcane Warrior only) bettering the bejebus out of anything that looked at me funny.
My I just went pure primal magic aswell so i just pumped out a load of DPS spells then charge in and helped Ogrhen and Alistar finish off anything.
When you give total control to a computer, it’s only a matter of time before it pulls a Skynet on you and you’re running for your life.
Has anyone tried out a Reaver character yet? I haven't had a go with the spec yet, but it looks pretty good at tanking.
