Hi all, this is an army I made for the upcoming schools league, the general plan is that the farseer and the dire avengers go off towards the objective, bladestorming anything that comes near, while the banshees hop in the falcon which guns down any tanks/monstrous creatures before deploying the banshees next to any unit they seem capable of dealing with.
So, anyway here it is:

Farseer: Doom, Singing spear
10 Dire avengers: Exarch, Bladestorm, Twin shuriken catapults
10 Dire avengers: Exarch, Bladestorm, Twin shuriken catapults
Falcon: Shuriken cannon
5 Howling banshees: Exarch

Although usually there isn't much advice that can be given for a force as small as 600 points, I just wanted to make sure I hadn't done anything completely stupid!

Well, I'd consider a Serpent with shuricannon and stones instead of the Falcon.

I considered taking a wave serpent but since I don't have the model for it and all I really needed was something with a fairly large gun and that had at least a small transport capacity so I just settled for the falcon.
...Although I suppose a wave serpent would allow me to transport dire avengers (and would be a fair bit cheaper)...

I'd replace the Banshees by Fire Dragons.

I'm not good at playing Eldar. I have been successful at facing them though. So you know where I'm coming from. Here's what you'd face if you played me.
Necrons, space marines, Imperial guard...in 600 points, I would bring 2 or 3 guns for long range anti-vehicle/MC. With IG, likely even more. For troops, either plenty of 24" rapid fire. The anti-tank will likely prevent your falcon from firing if not doing damage. Meanwhile your troops have to march up while getting shot at. I don't have to march to you. You are doing no damage to me while staying out of range, while I would hopefully be keeping your falcon down. If the falcon gets a weapons destroyed, I could ignore it after that and use the anti-tank on your troops. So, your avengers approach my lines under fire, losing units on the way. Eventually, you can make it into firing range. At best, you had to endure at least one round of fire in the 18-24 inch range where you could do nothing in return. Then you can probably bladestorm and severely damage, if not wipe out one unit. The response will be either an assault or rapid fire from a lot of guns. Next turn, you won't be able to shoot so you can choose to assault where you will face difficult odds, or run away and take another round of long range fire. I don't think it looks good for you.

If you face Orks, you may get one chance to shoot, if you're lucky, then you'll face a WAAGH and be wiped out. Heck, the Orks might even ignore the Falcon. So what if they lose a few boys a turn while heading for your avengers.

Basically, the way I see it, everything rests on your Falcon. If it gets taken down, you're dead. If it is able to keep firing, you might get your opponent to come to you on your terms where I would argue it's still an even fight, not a sure thing for you. If your opponent brings armored transports (think marines in 3 rhinos) likely at least two will be able to assault your avengers without your avengers ever being able to fire a single shot.

Anyway, I would suggest you consider thinking about likely opponent lists and imagine how they will kill yours. Then you might see weaknesses you need to address.

Oh, completely missed the banshees in your list. Makes your list more interesting I think. Now I'm thinking I might like to take than on to see how I fair against it. If you could transport the banshees, unscathed, into HtH ahead of your avengers, move into position to bladestorm then assault your opponent after the banshees die. That could be very unpleasant to face.

Give us a list of what models you have to work with and we can go from there.

5 banshees is not going to be able to kill much and will get squished in return.
Falcon is way too pricey for a 600pt list
DA on foot are as good as dead

Hmm...it looks fairly hopeless when you put it like that...
My current collection consists of a squad of dire avengers, quite a few jetbikes, a jetbike autarch, a small squad of shining spears, a similarly small squad of swooping hawks, a fire prism, a falcon and a couple of vypers.

While its not an optimal setup you have there its far from as bad as PrivatePanic makes it sound like, it is safe to say that he is exagerating by quite a bit...

What I would do if I were you was to save enough money to afford 2 serpents.

BTW, are you guys playing with the standard rules? Or is it for instance illegal to bring a Land Raider?

Beg/steal/borrow the money and grab a serpent and a prism

5 DA in a Serpent w/ Scatter lasers & SS - 185 (stay at range and pop transports/infantry)
Jetbike Autarch (Power Weapon) w/ 3 eldar jetbikes 176 (turbo boost around and stay alive to capture objectives. In annihilation get the Autarch in CC)
2 Fire Prisms - 230 (Pop heavy vehicles with combined, s6 ap3 marines with combined dispersed)

Stay all in reserves and play smart.

total 591

With what you have:

5 DA in the falcon (Scatter Laser, Holofields) 225 (stay at long range, counts as scoring)
Farseer with Guide 75 (put this in with the DA and guide the tank)
Jetbike Autarch (Power Weapon & Banshee Mask) w/ 3 eldar jetbikes 176 (turbo boost around and stay alive to capture objectives. In annihilation get the Autarch in CC)
2 Vypers with Scatter lasers- 120 (Stay at range and pick off transports/infantry, be very defensive with these. Half hide behind the Falcon or buildings)

Stay all in reserves and play defensively

total 599

Hm, with that list restriction... get two waveserpents and go with minimal DA squads, the farseer and a fire prism. Use the last few points to play with the serpent weapons, the farseer powers and/ or the number of DA in one squad. Scatter lasers on the serpents, altho BL or eml on one would be a good option too.

Gives you three tanks, your whole force is fast mech and hard to pin down. Concentrate fire on anything that can hurt armor and ignore the infantry until later. If you do face orks hes probably going to have only one unit that can hurt you at all.

You would need to get two serpents with your current list, unless they would let you "count as" your falcon for one.

Sliggoth

Just as a general note to anyone looking to add vehicles to an eldar list: always get waves serpents before falcons. For that matter, get prisms before you get a falcon.

Why does my eldar army run three fire prisms? Because the rules wont let me use four in (regular 40k).

That seems like a good idea, but I would have thought that you would need a few more troops choices,if only to capture objectives- all my opponent really needs to do there is kill about 10 DA's and I'm practically out of the game in capture and control/seize ground.
