I have thought about starting a demons army. What are the best parts about the army. Best units and tactics and also any special rules.

Any pros and cons basically.

"Innocence Proves Nothing... Except That You've Done Nothing Wrong"

Welcome to the Daemonhunters, the ranks of the exalted Ordo Malleus and their cannon fod....er, I mean, loyal allies. Remember...the only ones who need fear the righteous might of the Ordo Malleus are the Daemonic.

quote: Dashofpepper: ...sad rivulet of demon prince tears. He ponders for a moment, then lashes the demon hunters into him. He assaults them, kills a terminator or two....and then demon hunters being demon hunters....they proceed to wtfpwn him. Second player leaves the table...

USefull units IMHO,

Grinders, at least 2 if you want any.

Flamers, do not underestimate how much of a pain for any opposition unit they can be.

Crushers, frankly one of the best units out there imho.

Heralds vs GD's - personal preference, but if you go heralds i'd take chariots.

Oh and prepare to lose at lot at first!

on board Terminus Est

Pros:
•Army ignores deployment rules
•Entire army has Eternal Warrior which is very useful for any multi wound model in the codex (e.g., Greater Daemons, Daemon Princes, Heralds, Blood Crushers, etc.)
•Very strong in assault if properly built
•Entire army has an invulnerable (except for Soul Grinders)

Cons:
•Randomness (wrong wave comes in first, scattering)

The randomness can be accounted for up to a point by the use of icons and smart placement when deep striking units.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Here are some of the better units:

Generic Greater Daemons
Bloodthirster, Great Unclean One, Keeper of Secrets

Named Greater Daemons
Fateweaver, Skarbrand, Kugath

Named Heralds
The Masque, Skulltaker, Epidemius

Elites
Blood Crushers, Fiends

Troops
Plague Bearers, Bloodletters

Heavy Support
Soul Grinders, Nurgle Daemon Princes

There are others, those listed above just came to mind first and seem to be the most popular.

It bugs the hell out of me when people ask questions without actually putting in question marks.

Most competitive lists load up on Bloodletters and Bloodcrushers. Lots of tough power weapons to deal with there.

Magnetize the whole army to their bases, and keep a second set of bases for em - Fantasyhammer away!

I love flamers. They're expensive and fragile, but it's fun to see your opponent's 300 points of terminators deepstrike in, only to be slaughtered wholesale by three little guys with chaos breath. (YMMV. Assault termies have a decent shot at surviving even this.)
