For those of you in CA who don't mind a little travel, we're hosting a mini-con here in San Luis Obispo and I'm running a 40k and Fantasy tournament and a local gamer (on Dakka as Menelker, some you have seen his Lava Boards in the P&M tutorial forum) is running a Warmaching Mk. II primer. Please PM me if you are interested in coming up for the day and playing some games.

San Luis Obispo is about 2.5 - 3 hours North of Los Angeles and 3 - 3.5 hours south of the Bay Area.

Here are the events:

Friday:

Warmachine Mk. II Primer - 5 pm

With the recent release of the Mk II rules, bring your army and get some practice games in! Whether you are new to Warmachine or a seasoned Jack Marshall, the Mk II rules poses new challenges and new strategies to learn. So dust off your jacks and get ready to play like you've got a pair!

Saturday:

40k Tournament - 10 am

Armies will consist of 1750 points using a standard Force Organization chart. Bring any list from any current codex (Blood Angels use the official pdf on the GW website). No Imperial Armor units or rules will be allowed, Forgeworld models must be used to represent an existing unit from the players codex. The INAT FAQ v. 3.1 will be used. Please bring all items needed for gaming (dice, ruler, etc) as well as printed versions of your army list. Tournament registration starts at 10 am and games will begin promptly at 11 am.

Sunday:

Warhammer Fantasy Battles Devastation Tournament - 11 am

This is a different sort of tournament. We will use the Devastation rules from Adepticon 2009 (http://www.adepticon.org/09rules/09fantdev.html). Note that only Battle Scores will be counted in this tournament. Please bring a 3,000 point list, a 2,000 point list, and a 1,000 point list all from the same Army Book (Dogs of War and Chaos Dwarves may use the GW pdf). The Fantasy Devastation Tournament will use the 'Sliding' Methodology from The GW FAQ, Pg 6-8. No more than one Regiment of Renown is allowed in a Non-Dogs of War army. Registration starts at 11 am with games beginning at 12 pm sharp.

40k Apocalypse - 11 am

Bring 2000 points and get ready for the Apocalypse. Special rules and scenario will be provided for this battle to the death! Registration starts at 11am and the game kicks off at 12 noon.

Let me know if you have any questions and maybe I'll get to meet a few of you!

Question came up locally about what Tyranid codex to use. As the codex comes out on the day of the tournament we will NOT be using the new Tyranid codex, you will need to make an army based on the 4th ed book.
