I just got back from seeing it. I give it three stars out of five for trying really hard. It doesn't quite succeed, because like most Vampire movies it tries too hard to explain things, but still doesn't really seem to connect the dots. There are some good scenes of ultra-violence and a lot of really creepy gak, so I would recommend it as long as you don't ask too many questions.

I'll just be happy to see a Vampire film where the vampires aren't sparkely and chock full of teenage angst.

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

Those exist?

I thought they died out with Blade 3.

In other news finally saw Zombieland. Awesomely good time. Definitely feel that rule #2 is a good rule to live by.

--The whole concept of government granted and government regulated 'permits' and the accompanying government mandate for government approved firearms 'training' prior to being blessed by government with the privilege to carry arms in a government approved and regulated manner, flies directly in the face of the fundamental right to keep and bear arms.

Bleh, I get the feeling that vampire movies are dead, but I might go see it anyway. You never know...

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

I though Blade 3 invented them. Cain was pretty emo, or at least a good teenage imitation of cynicism.
