Nearly everyone in my LGW is now playing Fantasy and me and my friends are left having no 40k games, so I am decided that I am going to do Skaven!
I play Tyranids in 40k so maybe my likes for this army have emerged from this? With next week being lets buy Nid's week I have some time to think of some army lists and what to spend.
I hope I can buy the army with about 150 pounds (200 dollars?) so I am stuck on what to buy.

Looking through others lists my first impressions that clan rats are in general put in units of 25 and some armies can revolve around a DeathStar unit (Pleg monks and pleg furnace).
I have read through the army book (I don't own a copy as of this moments but are planning on buying one next week ). I like the plague monks and clan moulder as they both seem very Nurgley. I would like to base my army around this put not completely.
Here's what I might buy so far, looking at other lists and in terms of budget.

Skaven: Army book £15

Warlock Engineer £8

Queek Headtaker (use as Warlord)

2x Skaven Battalion £55
-40 Clan Rats
-20 Plague Monks
-3 Pack Masters
-6 Giant Rats
-2 Rat Ogres

Screaming Bell/Plague Furnace £35

Doom Wheel £20

At 1500 or less i would take a Warlock engineer, lvl2 Infact i would take 2.
You should get yourself a Doomwheel also they are very handy.

Clanrats. Lots of clanrats. The more units you can field, the better the skaven tend to perform. And clanrats are pretty cheap, points-wise.

For even more units, convert the less-well equipped clanrats into slaves (painting them with leather armor and rusty weapons is enough). For a minimum of points, you could field 8-10 cheap units of 20+ (combined slave and clanrats), and still have lots of points left for powerful killy units like Censer Bearers (easily converted from Plague Monks), Storm Vermin, and Doomwheels.

Then double- or flank-charge everything into oblivion!

One more thing: come up with an Abomination. Fur up a dragon or dinosaur, rat up a werewolf, something. They are quite the killer unit. At the very least, they will give the other guy something more important to shoot at than your approaching battleline.

He said theres ways to go. Super elite or horde.
Super elite -

Your going to need like 4 boxes of stormvermin
Screaming bell.
2 Warp fire throwers.
2 Doomwheels or 2 Abominations
its down to preference with tha one.
2 Boxes of skaven slaves.
2 x 6 Censer bearers.

That is suppose to be the cheaper option.
He has used a empire steam tank and converted it into a Abomination, in the fluff apperantly they stole 1 steam tank.
The other option is quite expensive to buy as you will need lots of Clanrats, Slaves.
Depends how you want to play also?

I want to get basic options first and work from there.

Keep in mind my model counts is 0!

2 Skaven Battalions probably but check Ebay first. That'll give you 2 units of 20 Clanrats and 2 Units of 20 Slave as well as 40 Plague Monks Make 10 of those into Plague Censer Bearers uhh actually sod that best advice I can give you is to head over to the Underempire its a brilliant friendly Skaven forum!
