My usual game is a 2v2 with 1K per player. Goes a little faster than a regular 2K a side game.

1850 is the norm for where I play. I feel its light enough to get through in a reasonable amount of time (providing you set aside the time) but heavy enough to really allow for some creative list building.

1850.

Anything below 1500 is really boring and unbalanced in my opinion.

2k i find that at this point level 'list builds' help even out the lack of 'fairness' in codex's especially as i play a guy who has demons and at anything under this he's list are terrible even though it looks good on paper

I agree with he of the large precipitation, a variety of point builds is not only a lot of fun in keeping you on your toes, but also allows a lot more armies to shine as various codices tend to hit their sweet spot at various point builds.

1850 is ol' reliable around here though.

We play 1250 atm. We're taking off a few weeks to build terrain and get up to 1500.

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

Observations on complex unit wound allocation: If you're feeling screwed, your opponent is probably doing it right.

I think the game is most balanced with armies at 2k.

Nothing really wrong with 1850.

I run probably 75% of my tournaments at 1750 points, and whenever I build a new army, 1750 it my butter zone. I plan for that value, and then will add or subtract as needed for games.

I'm actually impressed at the number playing 2,000 as their go to size. I'm playing on average much smaller games then them as 2,000 is really as big as I usually go and I often drop down to as low as 1,000 to play newer kids in the shop.

...I've got army size envy now.

I play between 1500 to 1750 typically (Remember reading in an old WD that 1500 is what GW uses as their core size for playtest purposes) but if I want to go all out for a big weekend game then anywhere up to 2250 (Will be 3K when I get a few more HQ Crisis suits...)
