Hi,

First off I didn't put this in YMDC because it's homemade rules so I thought it would be inappropriate. If this is still in the wrong place MODS please move it.

I wrote some custom rules for a CCS and I have playtested them. One of the rules I wrote was for a medic character and I gave him the ability to re-roll the FNP roll for any character in base contact with him. However, after play-testing my opponents thought that he was too powerful. What I would like is can anybody think of a medic related special rule that isn't as powerful as re-rolling FNP but isn't pathetically weak.

FNP is an extra armour save...

just make him FNP enabling.

Damn, had forgotten about propsed rule so thanks for pointing that out.
Thing is a normal medic is FNP enabling, I want him to have an additional special rule to set him apart as a character rather than just a medic.

Maybe a special FNP rule that lets you take it when you normally wouldn't? Like say, give it to them even if the weapon has AP 1 or 2...

Hi ,
Well the options I can think of are ...
Patch 'em up, Let the retinue re- roll normal saves.

Life saver, Give the retinue the option to ignore ONE wounding hit per turn,(one wounding hit is automaticaly cancelled out , not one wound per model, just one wound.)

Juiced up,Add 1 to the FNP roll.(FNP on a 3+)

FNP isn't an armor save BTW

its a 4+ save in addition to armor saves with a few restrictions

Rerolling FNP sounds fine with me. why did they(your opponents) think it was OP? it isn't all FNPs, its one rerolled(I assume) FnP in BtB with the medic

I say stick to your guns and keep the original rule. it was balanced.
