For me this is not tabletop battle related but it may apply to a lot of people. I had some clear parts to one of my models (Modified P-51A) sitting on the bookcase waiting to be painted and i picked them up the other day to do said painting and i discovered they were covered in dust, so i dusted them, to no avail. Turns out the automatic bug killer we have had been depositing residue on it and has made it go all foggy. is there any way i can make my clear components clear again without buying new ones?

Sometimes floor polish works.
If the chemical has etched the acetate, then silver polish can bring it back (I can polish scratches out of clear perspex with it).

You might also try GW's paint on varnish, `Ard Coat. It will dry to a clear high gloss, and I've used it in the past to polish up translucent (though not full on clear) materials.

Would residue eat away materials? ( i dunno but )
instead of applying more things on , how about trying a long rinse under warm water? incase the bug spray contains some sort of lemon oil.

A lot of times, the best solvent for a residue is whatever put the residue there in the first place. Try spraying the canopy down with the bug spray, and then washing it before the bug spray dries. (Make sure to wear gloves though!)

I would just wash the pieces thoroughly in hot water with soap. Let dry and if they have pitting or fogging still, hit them with a coat of Future.

Thanks for all the help guys, one question though, whats future? (other than a component of time) i'm guessing some kind of floor polish, but i live in New Zealand, what would be the equivalent here?
