I've just started a new Iron Warrior army and am making some army lists up, so far I've come up with a 500pt, 1000pt and a 1500pt army list and I'd like to know what your opinion on them are --

So guys, what do you think of them?

List one dont think anything needs changed about as killy as you can get as long as you remember the risk. Second list since you made all champs why dont you change that to dual LCs instead since you get rerolls and the extra attack. Last list i would say lose the first termie squad for more troops as the general rule of thumb is one squad of troops for every 500pts. Then i would say lose one of the Blast masters for DP on the vindicator. Vindicators tend to run best in pairs or triplets.

Iron Warriors and Noise Marines... for fluffy sake I just don't see it

They are going to be converted to look like 'electric marines', so cabling, electromagnets, stuff like that so they look more machine like....

Fluff wise i woudl lose th eniose marines and the marks of Khorne (as IW are supposed to be undivided).

I always take at least 1 Oblit on a 1500 list as they are just too good to pass up.

Also the 1500 list is a bit light on troops. the termies are expensive and could cost you dearly in an objective game. For comparisons sake i have just posted a 1500 point list which has 30 marines, 5 chosen, 2 'blitz, a defiler and a vindi. You'd be surprised hwo much you can save by droppign the marks from a couple of units.

Hmm.... I might do but the mark of khorne in a squad can be devastating... I'll look into it (I might just give them lightning claws to compensate) but does anyone think I should drop the noise marines and second terminator squad and get some 10 man squad with a power fist and two melta weapons in two and one with two flamers?

Could work. Bear in mind that, according to the wargear in the codex, CSMs actually have 2 attacks basic in CC. So a normal squad can be pretty mean by itself (wargear lists pistol, gun & ccw, flamer only replaces the gun).

How about replacing a Obliterator with a Havoc Squad? Feels more like Iron Warriors with lots of Long Ranged units. Also tanks, dreadnaughts and defilers, very Iron Warrior-y, but this is mostly to make the army alittle more fluffy, I havn't really played enough to give any good army list advice

I just wanted my tanks to be able to dish out some hurt after they are disembarked from, mainly to take out horde stuff like orks and tyranids.....

But other than that, I will have some havocs, probably in my 2000pt army, also I will add some tanks in when I get them ^_^

I was being serious. I do love em'. They get the job done at the right price!

Termy Lord: meh.
He’s most likely with the other termies, I find them to be an underwhelming unit for the Lord to join…they don’t quite ‘need’ his muscle, and screw around his fearless.
In addition a chainfist for a termy squad if you intend to get them stuck in.

CSM: Looks ok, where is the IoCG?
Rhino: I’m meh about havoc launchers, the opportunity cost is too great to shoot them.
The single oblit isn’t so hot IMO.

1500:
Adding troops is good.
More termies is hit or miss, but I feel the lack of combi-weapons will be their down fall.
They are not like tactical termies and don’t really work in that regard, so mass fists are their downfall, or 100% lightning claws.
In general, they are great burst damage in the form of combi-weapons, their standard power weapons and maybe a chainfist.

I’d rather see more than one oblit in each squad or just a single squad of 2.

Oh, sorry I did forget to mention something, the chanfist squad all have combi melta, also how about dropping the havoc launchers so I can get some more stuff? Just use the Rhinos as transports and nothing more?

Also, for the 1000pt list I could use a standard lord instead (I'm using the White Dwarf model as a warsmith) With a single demon weapon instead, I'm also going to drop the oblit,that way I get about.... 160 more points to spend on the 1000pt list. How about taking a vindicator with demonic possession?

For the 1500 as said above, the chainfists have combi weapons, they are most likely to either start on the board if it's a horde army, or if the opponents tanks are transports/moving forward but deep strike if they aren't so I can pincer move the tanks from the rear. The oblits would also be in one squad, I also have a squad with just standard equipment (Terminators) With a heavy flamer in it that I could work into the list if I drop the tank killing unit, I could of course, just make one big unit (Chainfists and Lightning Claws)

I am not a fan of HLs when they do work theyre great but alot of the time you get taken out by lascannons before you even get a chance to fire them. Vindicator with DP sounds good in that list but dont forget you could add a second oblit. Last in 1500 list you would probably fare better with another squad of CSMs.

Havocs with lascannons are a big Red Flag IMO.

If Havoc Launchers were 5-10 points to match or hover around the Smurf Razorback, maybe they'd be used more...

Mixture is a Red Flag too.
Missile Launchers or Autocannons if you go with Hvy Weapon Havocs...Autocannons if you want to be 'unique'...

If you run special weapons...meh, get CSM troops.

Ok then, I'll probably think about havocs later (They are more for fluff than anything else) But does the new list look ok? Any recommended changes?
