1) Do NOT use Khorne Daemon Weapons. Its horrible. You will fail to swing 30% of the time, thats unacceptable. If you want Khorne HQs, go with dual Claws. 6 attacks on the charge will be very killy.
And the other 70% of the time, you proceed to get all Slaaneshi on someone's face... Given the fact that you're looking at 4 WS5 attacks per model on the charge, it's a risk I think I'm willing to take.
2) Instead of the Raptors, I'd take a 10 man CSM squad in a Rhino with 2x meltaguns and a Power Fist. It will cost the same and be the same number of wounds but you get another piece of armor out of it and another scoring unit.
I'm not convinced here... It's nowhere near as mobile, and can be stopped dead in it's tracks. The raptors can get to where they need to be without worrying about intervening terrain... they also present a 36" wide no-go zone for vehicles, not accounting for actual squad footprint. They can crash the party a lot harder and more effectively, even without the ablative wounds. I trust fast bodies over AV11 to get my Anti-armor where it needs to be, and the way I have it currently, I've got more melta than your own suggestion, which puts me in a better position when the bugs hit the table with their
MCs, as well as being a unit that can hit a squad of
GEQ pretty hard.
Another option is 7-8 Plague Marines with 2 Plasma and a Rhino (Fist optional). Now you have a squad that can camp an objective or provide a little bit of ranged fire support.
Maybe, but it's still not as versatile as the raptors, even if the raptors are a squad that will end up trashed. Plague marines can be a difficult squad to remove, but they can be readily contested with bodies, or outright ignored if need be. Plague marines are a unit that only hit their stride in multiple squads, as they become a bigger issue when sitting on multiple objectives than they do just sitting on a single objective.
PMs are scary in lists with 2 or more squads, otherwise they're just a gimmick.
3) Part of me feels that if you trim your points some (go to 8 Berserkers, cheapen the HQs and lose the Combi-Meltas, you might just have the points to sneak in a Termicide squad or a 2x DCCW Dreadnought.
maybe.... but with the raptors taking the traditional Termicide role, and the dread moving slower than the Land Raiders, how do either of those suggestions fit in here?
