Hi there Gang,

Here's my prospective list; have a looks-see:

HQ 1: Warboss, Bike, Power Klaw, Attack Squig
HQ 2: Big Mek, SAG

Elite 1: 15 Lootas
Elite 2: 15 Lootas
Elite 3: 15 Lootas

Troop 1: 30 Shootas, 3 Big Shootas, Nob, Power Klaw
Troop 2: 30 Shootas, 3 Big Shootas, Nob, Power Klaw
Troop 3: 19 Grots, 1 Runtherd

Fast Attack: 11 Bikerboys, Nob, Power Klaw

Total: 1747

Battle Plan: 3 loota crews are the core, plastering enemy infantry, as shoota boyz march forward in a firing advance, probably flanking the center. The grots act as forward cover shields, naturally, primarily for the lootas, but where possible for the shootas; the grots also take wounds for the big mek and his SAG. The bikeboys will provide mobile crossfire where appropriate without entering into close combat until the coup de grace is to be delivered; they're not to get bogged down into a protracted fight.

Point of Speculation: There doesn't seem much love for bikeboys, and while I haven't the (or any) experience to contend with you all, it seems they could play the role of mobile gunline well; they are fast, provide their own cover saves, and shoot a lot of rounds of shots (same as the big shoota) at a decent distance (same as the shoota).

About me: I have been collecting for awhile without playing, and figured a list build would shape my industry; my orks are legion despite my want of play. I have all the material for this army above list on my desk, much of it not yet assembled and much less painted. So my intention is to factory out this build list, play with it (God willing), and then move on to another list. However, I would like my efforts to be directed to a competitive army.

Love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks,

Paul Cornelius

I think its sweet. Although, you may find that you are going to want another 30 Shoota boyz. I think they would help out a lot more than the bikerboyz.

Granted, I have never run biker boyz, but I am an expierenced footsloggin/Kan Walling, and Mech player.

The problem with only footslogging 60 boyz is the fact that they die so damn fast. Even with a 4+ cover save, you will find that you will be removing a lot of models. Not to mention that another squad of 30 shootas will be laying down a ton of shots.

Also, people put Lootas in Battlewagons as an armored gun base. This would be extremely helpful in keeping them alive if you throw a KFF Mech behind the battlewagons. So you could maybe drop all the bikes from your list in favor of this option.

Let me know what you think and where you want to go and then i can help you out some more.

It's not a traditional ork army list, I like that.

People are going to prepare their lists for an "ork" army, then they will see this and be both confused as hell, and using a list that will not work against yours.

My only concern though, I wouldn't use the bikers as a mobile gunline, I would re-work their equipment for close combat and use them to take out key units in the enemy's army, such as long-ranged shooty units or even hitting tanks at rear armor.

Welcome to my world, where we do things...my way.

If your doing gun lines you want lootas, which you have, which is good. You also want battlewagons with some gunz on and throw the boyz into there for protection, or the lootas.

I would probably drop the warboss and add another big mek with kff to give those battlewagons some cover.

Also get more grots, use them as a bullet shield in front of the orks. So you will need a grot unit per ork unit more or less.

Well if your opponent has any long range large blast, especially if it is indirect fire, you're toast. KFF isn't going to protect those lootas forever.
The bikes are an interesting touch, but not supported enough by the rest of your list to really hit hard. While your bikes engage the enemy, your horde is still playing catch-up. You'll hit your opponent piecemeal, never really a good idea.
As others have suggested, adding loota bunkers in your unused HS slots would help. The bikes might work as smaller groups with claws to murder vehicles, but you might also be able to acomplish that with deffkoptas.

no KFF in list, guessing they will sit in cover...

I like bikes, even non nob bikerz are pretty good.

Lootas are the best unit in the Ork codex but you may find some challenges with actual deployment of 45 of them, use of 45 of them in if terrain is heavy where you want to shoot, and you're pretty much screwed in dawn of war missions.

You're also going to have a difficult time with this list against daemons, drop pod marines, drop pod nids, or quality outflanking since if your lootas are neutralized or sucked into CC, the rest of your army is incredibly weak, especially against heavy vehicles, which you will have a difficult time killing with only 3 PK's in the list. Your lack of dreds or kanz or kannons or rockitts or any kind hurts you against things like Leman Russ or Land Raiders.

It really depends on your metagame. If you're playing people on tables with light terrain and light LOS blocking and nobody is playing deep strike or heavy armor lists then you're going to rip it up. If not? You're going to get tabled. Quickly.

I'd figure out better ways to improve the rest of the list outside of lootas. Maybe cut to 30 to free up points for more versatile units and then rebuild from there.

How does this list win the game? I'm legitimately curious. You have no units that are good at pushing into enemy territory, you have no units that can deal with heavy armor, and you have no way of dealing with outflankers or even deep strikers.
