In the codex the Tervigon pic is nothing special looks just like a Fex with 2 sets of talons. So I am just going to use my Fexs for Tervigons. I don't see anything to suggest you need a bigger base either it has mostly the exact same stat line as a fex too. Do you think anyone would have any real issue with this?

Until an actual model comes out, go nuts.

i would *recommend* using the trygon base since i suspect GW (IF they ever say anything) will say to use it since the description says it's a "massive" creature and the stats are consistent with the trygon and mawloc (t6, 6 wounds). you would think GW would have learned from the thunderwolf cav basing debacle and put in a few words about base sizes of units that don't yet have official models but they apparently haven't (nor have they addressed the question in the SW faq). technically, legally, yes you have every right to use your fexes for tervigons as long as you don't mind the occasional raised eyebrow. one could even model a nid on a 40mm base (used by wraithlord monstrous creatures in 3rd/4th edition) as a trygon since GW apparently can't afford the ink to print recommended base sizes for gaps in their modelling range.

im making a counts-as tervigon in one of my lists, and it will be a bunch of smaller models posed in heroic style on the newish 100x120mm base with a raised platform to give them the appropriate height.

THE HORUS HERESY: Emprah: Hours, go reconquer the galaxy so there can be a new golden age. Horus: But I should be Emprah, bawwwwww! Emprah: Magnus, stop it with the sorcery. Magnus: But I know what's best, bawwwwww! Emprah: Horus, tell Russ to bring Magnus to me because I said so. Horus: Emprah wants you to kill Magnus because he said so. Russ: Fine. Emprah's always right. Plus Ole Red has already been denounced as a traitor and I never liked him anyway. Russ: You're about to die, cyclops! Magnus: O noes! Tzeentch, I choose you! Bawwwww! Russ: Ah well. Now to go kill Horus. Russ: Rowboat, how have you not been doing anything? Guilliman: . . . I've been writing a book. Russ: Sigh. Let's go. Guilliman: And I fought the Word Bearers! Horus: Oh shi--Spess Puppies a'comin? Abbadon: And the Ultramarines, sir. Horus: Who? Anyway, this looks bad. *enter Sanguinis* What are you doing here? Come to join me? Sanguinius: *throws self on Horus's power claws* Alas, I am undone! When you play Castlevania, remember me! *enter Emprah* Emprah: Horus! So my favorite son killed my favorite daughter! Horus: What about the Lion? Emprah: Never liked her. Horus: No one does. Now prepare to die! *mortally wounds Emprah*Emprah: Au contraire, you dick. *kills Horus* Dorn: Okay, now I just plug this into this and . . . okay, it works! Emprah? Hellooooo? Jonson: I did nothing! Guilliman: I did more nothing that you! Jonson: Nuh-uh. I was the most worthless! Guilliman: Have you read my book? Dorn: No one likes that book. Khan: C'mon guys. It's not that bad. Dorn: I guess not. Russ: You all suck. Ima go bring the Emprah back to life.

I agree, go nuts but be reasonable, there will be 2 different official bases for MCs, the carnifex 60mm circle, and the 100mm x 120mm trygon oval. When an official model comes out use the base that comes with it, otherwise do what you want and long as its clear what it is, and you do get WYSIWYG.
