Is there any use for him in a game, besides using him in a speed freak list to take bikers as troop choices
but for that there are warbosses and you can take nob bikers as troops

Well you've pretty much hit the proverbial nail on the head there Huffy. He's primarily there to allow you to take bikers as troops. Sure you can have two biker warbosses and have two nob biker squads but at 1500 pts that'll be about all you have. Trust me, I ran it. My buddy Josh's tau gunline opened up and nearly annihilated me on the way in. However, once I got there I killed him to the tau. I only had 3 nobs from one group, two half dead warbosses and one lone painboy from the second. It was quite a feat.

I've had lots more luck with having several other biker squads (as I've mentioned in other posts of yours). So not to continue beating my dead horse I'll conclude with a direct answer to your OP.

Wazzdakka is cool simply because he rides a monstrous bike that is called the Bike of the Aporkalypse... It has a str 8 gun that you can turbo boost and still fire. He has burning titan princep's skulls on it... Did I mention that it's called the bike of the Aporkalypse? Anyway he, like Zogwort and others, just kind of embodies orky zaniness. Really, he's just there to let bikers be troops. That's really it, because a tooled up biker warboss will beat the tar out of him in cc.

To summarize, he's expensive point-wise for what you get, and his only perk is to allow you to field a sub-optimal unit, but other than that, he's great.

He makes an excellent paper weight, and when coupled with some of these guys http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Dakka_Dakka_Ork_Takktica_Part_3#Flash_Gitz they can make a delightful set of book ends. I'm sure the 5th or 6th edition Ork codex will make him ridiculously good (corresponding to his new plastic model release), and reduce Thraka to the same level of derision.

Experimental Wazdakka list by Stelek:

So, this is a list I've been playtesting, trying to make Orks work.

While it's an odd collection, I note a couple others have been running a similarly themed list.

The inspiration for this came from my Eldar, who have really really bad troops--but if you bring some Guardian Jetbikes along it really changes the way the army runs.

8 anti-tank units (3xlootas, 2xbuggies, Wazzdakka, Kannons) and anti-infantry everywhere, plus hopefully enough anti-assault elements.

Kudos to all the excellent ideas, looks like I'm not alone in thinking highly of old Wazzy. Now if only he could hit something. lol

If your looking for a competitive list, then hes not your best bet.

If you want a unique themed army, and you have a ton of ork bikes lying around, use him.
IE, if your playing the 'new guy' who is not familiar with the game. Instead of smashing their face in, play a non-competitive army to balance the scales.

That's the most forgiving and carefully worded description of the phrase "under powered" or "over priced" that I've ever heard.

When I read your words, it feels like Games Workshop has omnipotent developers with vast insight that intentionally sprinkle the odd unit here and there in a codex to make games interesting for the little guy. The designer of Wazdakka Gutsmek was like a benevolent mythological father figure, designing each individual model with further reaching view than whether or not he would compete in the local tournament effectively. When compared to the typical hate spewed on the boards about units that should never be fielded competitively, it is much more sublime. The OP should meditate upon this wisdom.

LOL, an excellent description. Seeing as how I have a whole bunch of bikes, I think I may do this very thing at low points levels instead of running a warphead and horde against players that I'm teaching. More fun/challenging for me, easier time of it for them, everyone wins.

With 2 warbosses an ork army can have 2 groups of nob bikers, but they are expensive and it's only 2 squads. The thing is 2 squads of nob bikers can easily go past 1200 points.

Wazdakka + a warboss
6 troops
1 nob biker
5 bikers

Now you have 6 bikes as a troops choice, though I would go with 6 bikers as troops to save points leaving more for elites to buy some lootas.

The list can also work out well by not including any kans, truks, or battlewagons eliminating the use of any anti vechile weapons.

I think it would work well with lootas as the bikes can screen the looters giving them a 4+ cover save by moving between the looters and enemy units with long range firepower.

6 squads of bikers will cost about as much as 2 squads of decked out nob bikers. The nob bikers are way better, but power klaw armed nobs are about tripple the cost of a regular biker.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.
