Decided to keep the boards clean...er. And revamp this thread into being about my guard army; LOTS of pics to come. Will be updating this post with the images of what's been built in the last while.

This thing has consumed many months of on and off again attention. The thing is just massive but the paint scheme I've been "scheming" is a little daunting as well and will require a lot of attention; partially why its kinda stuck where it is until I get some good free time to do it right but as it is:

And now a pic with "basilisk" barrel extension so that the model can now be used as either medusa or Basilisk ((the extension is made so that it is the same length as the original basi barrel.






Also thought it would be fun to take a quick "army" shot; though there's a few models missing and several in process of being repainted, it seems like a good time to "bookmark" where I'm at today to see how much gets done over the next month or so .




Missing from this are two Cadian vet squads ((painted)), and two Catachan vet squads ((painted)) as well as 4 Catachan reg squads and Catachan Platoon command which are all assembled but not painted. As well as 3 more scout sentinels, 2w/ multilaser and 1w/ rocket launcher, as well as one armored Sentinel which I've been trying to find another plasma cannon for to finish the 3 sets, and another Chimera that just came in the mail ((finally)) which is going to be built magnetized so that it can be either a Medusa/Basilisk or Chimera since I have a spare basilisk gun set.


Anyway more pics to come as work progresses; I'm that guy that comes up with an idea and gets sidetracked by it easily . Like my Catachan Vet squads which have been taking up most of my time lately with their paint scheme:

Well still in process of moving and won't be able to get into full swing of painting til end of August. But I can still do some handing painting . So let's see if my hand remembers how to do this.




Basing still has to be done of course; a couple minor details might be touched up. I'm iffy on the skin tone, I wanted something very pale and old looking so might touch that up a bit with some tones.

Skin's too white, needs some wash. Other than that it's lookin good.

I want to add some tone to his skin, but its hard; as I wanted him to appear old and sickly, as from the fluff I'd been readin' commissars get rather old when their wise to their mortality ((Cain)).

So, finally started the move into new place on Thursday, spent Friday up at the cottage loading up the truck with most of my smaller boxes that has all my wargaming and model stuff.
Saturday spent setting up the important things, you know; TV, Computer, PS3 . And yesterday when I was supposed to finish unpacking... I spent my time painting these three guys.

Commander Creed and Sargent Kell, and one random Meltagunner.





Also, I think I need a few more sentinels... . What's funny is the painted ones are not pictured ((2x autocannon, 2x multi-laser, 3x Plasma)), a total of 16.

So, its been slow going; been crazy busy with work.

Just finished one conversion for a Punisher, and just about done the second one. I've an officer with standard bearer on this one so that if I choose to take Pask in the Punisher
it is easily identified.

Both are getting stubbers, and were all Heavy Bolter hull/sponson to increase deadly capability against hordes.







Also, had a little fun starting to put out all my PAINTED stuff; though my Marine stuff obviously is not all painted just needed to make some space ((moving is a bitch... ))

Second Punisher built; have to get more white primer, tried black, takes SO many coats to get the Yellow Desert to show the right colour.

I have two shots showing the Patton, but don't really have many good snaps of the AS-90 ((the artillery tank)).

Well while painting this one it became very evident exactly how long the process is for the paint scheme I've been using has been. So now looking at a new scheme that would cut down the time frame dramatically by employing my airbrush more. Of course this is presenting the obvious dilemma of "What to do with already painted mini's?"

Base still needs to be done; but that I'll do when I have a few more models to do the same time.

So the worst on the above is the back of the banner, noticed the black spot that I missed fixing after reviewing the picture more today, so gotta fix that.

ACTUALLY the worst is caused by my lack of a proper flash :(.

It totally kills off the airbrushed highlighting here: which is why I'm having trouble with the debate on washing the marine on the right to match more the one on the left. But then I'm right back to square one on time for marine paint; though in the last 4 hours I managed to airbrush and highlight the blue on 10x assault marines, 25x tactical marines, 6x bikes, 2x attack bikes, 1x marneous, 7x honor guard, and 6x scout marines... plus finish the one honor guard marine.

Work schedule has been making it hard to get any long runs into getting too far. Spent the last few nights assembling whats left on spru for marines, and painted up a few of the assault marines.

However wanted to show off Calgar.

One of the Punishers is starting to get her colours shown for all to fear.

Got to play it at a game against Orks was happy with it, much more so than the damn Vanilla Russes that bit the dirt with out even a single shot from either of them but them's the dice. Still with Pask in this thing its a beast! I just wish it had 36" range on the cannon to match up with the Sponson and hull HB.

Got bored started making more smoke markers.

While those look great for vehicle destroyed markers, have you made any for smoke screens?
