Once again i call forth the council of dakka. i have decided to step through the realms from the 40th millennium to the world of warhammer but have no understanding of what faction to side along, this is where you come along and guide me to the path i shall take and endure its victory's and perils. ps i left out chaos daemons and beasts of chaos due to they have no battle force and i wouldn't really want to do them

I say dwarfs but that's a little biased because that's what I am going to be doing, and I just prefer Dwarfs. So know really reason.

As a generic recomendation? Dark Elves. Great minis, competitive army, and flexible to boot. It's also something of an elite army, so you don't need vast numbers of minis to make up an army.

Warriors of Chaos. Easy to learn, moderate to master. Also points wise you can make a very competitive army with a low model count and save you some money in the long run. They're also sporting some very bada$$ models that are fun to paint.

Once you learn more about the game you can venture into other armies like Vampire Counts, Skaven, or Dwarfs which I think you need some experience under your belt to really know how to kick with them.

wow why does every one love the dwarfs

to be honest the most likely armies for me would be bretonnia or warriors of chaos or maybe even skaven, unless you can show me a kickass reason/model/picture to change my mind about other races.
