Ok, so here's something I did fairly recently. I don't know if there are any techniques in particular for me to talk about here, he's got a lot of different things going on.
Overall, I was going for a very worn feel, and I think I pulled that off.
I put up a blog entry on how I did the lightning arcs for him.
Anyway, here he is:
Commentary is always welcome.

Very nice :-P I always love your work. This guy has some fun contrast going on. The white and the silver make it pop out nicely.

Thanks. I didn't go out of my way to make the silver very dark, but I think it works very well next to the white.

I always enjoy checking out your new threads, this one is no exception. One of the hardest looks to pull off is a slightly dingy, worn white armor, and you've totally nailed it. Kudos!
Thanks for posting the lightning arc tip on your blog as well. It's a nice, easy way to achieve a sharp looking effect.

Glad you liked the tutorial. I'm hoping to see more people try out the lightning effects now.

What model is that and what company is it from? I need to know since I just found my Sisters of Battle Stand-ins for my Vet Guard army.
As always you never disapoint in your skilled painting.

This is a Warmachine mini from Privateer Press.
His name is Captain Dominic Darius, and he is a Warcaster for Cygnar.
I think that's all the cue words I can give you. Your search engine or LGS should be able to find him based on that.
