Deadly Dire Avenger

Alright guys, here's the list I've come up with after many months, and a GT, of practise. The plan is to have the Wraithlords either sit in cover with the Falcon nearby, or run with the Falcon. Either way the're getting Guided or Fortuned a lot. The Seer Council runs around near the Fire Dragons and/or the Dire Avengers. If I come up against a troop transport, the Dragons Melt the tank then the Council charge the troops inside. If I run into a large unit of infantry, the Avengers soften them up and the council finish them off. The Guardians sit on home objective in cover and use the Scatter Laser when possible. Thoughts?
Farseer - Fortune, Jetbike [115]
5 Warlocks - Embolden, Enhance, 3 Destructor, Jetbikes [275]
6 Fire Dragons [96]
Wave Serpent - Shuriken Cannon, Spirit Stones [110]
10 Guardians - Scatter Laser [95]
9 Dire Avengers - Exarch, 2 Shuriken Catapults, Bladestorm [140]
Wave Serpent - Shuriken Cannon, Spirit Stones [110]
5 Dire Avengers [60]
Falcon - Spirit Stones, Holo-fields, Scatter Laser, Shuriken Cannon [185]
Wraithlord - Bright Lance, EML [155]
Wraithlord - Bright Lance, EML [155]
TOTAL [1496]

I would try to get Runes of Warding on the Farseer, it can shut down key components of some lists.
You mention guiding stuff, but the Farseer doesn't have guide!

Hate to sound negative, but this list really wouldn't be competitive.
Wraithlords will get mowed down by kraks or lascannons, banking on 50% obscured on them is really going to let you down.
A falcon without guide is really going to let you down.
Normal guardians will get obliterated and at ldr 8 they aren't going to stick around.
As said above the Farseer only has fortune, and at that you'll be fortuning the jetlocks I would hope.
Overall this a decent pen and paper setup, but on the field you'll find it will fail you badly.

5 Dire Avengers [60]
Falcon - Spirit Stones, Holo-fields, Scatter Laser, Shuriken Cannon [185]
Falcons are not worth the pts in the 5th ed.
I'd replace it by a Serpent with stones and shuricannon.
This would allow to beef up the DA unit.

If you use this list, you will get destroyed by assault armies like Orks. I'd suggest getting rid of a Wraithlord for a close combat unit like scorpions or banshees. You can get a large unit of scorpions for a good price as they don't need a trnasport to move fast. On the other hand, if you take Banshees, it would be good to get a Wave Serpent or Falcon.

Then Horus comes across the lone grot, somehow managing to kill the Emperor, and punts it into space. |

I used to use Eldrad instead of the Fire Dragons, but I find they're too good to pass up on. I'm gonna give this list a few goes but if it doesn't perform I'll simply go back to the list I took to the GT this year. In case anyones interested here it is...
Eldrad Ulthran [210]
6 Fire Dragons [96]
Wave Serpent - Shuriken Cannon, Spirit Stones [110]
10 Storm Guardians - 2 Flamers, Warlock, Destructor [127]
Wave Serpent - EML, Spirit Stones [130]
10 Dire Avengers - Exarch, 2 Shuriken Catapults, Bladestorm [152]
Wave Serpent - EML, Spirit Stones [130]
5 Dire Avengers [60]
Falcon - Spirit Stones, Holo-fields, Scatter Laser, Shuriken Cannon [185]
Fire Prism - Holo-fields [150]
Fire Prism - Holo-fields [150]
TOTAL [1500]
Its a good list, only lacking in the close combat department really, any opinions here?

For the second list i'd follow wusten's advice..drop the falcon to a serpent and beef up the DA to a 10 man squad.
I like the second list better than the first...but I do like #1's use of the bike council.

It could be stream-lined.
Take naked Prisms and (as said) replace the Falcon by a Serpent.

I think holo-fields on a fire prism are kind of a waste. It's only as good as its gun and it only has one gun you care about, so just let the damage dice fall as they may, it doesn't really help them much it may keep them from being dead but they'll be floating around with a broken gun instead, which is just as useless as being dead. Besides that it costs a bunch. 2 holofields dropped from the prisms is the difference of a whole extra troop squad or a cheapo warseer/guideseer, vyper or a couple of warwalkers almost.

the falcon giving 5 dire avengers a ride the entire game seems way too passive for me.
Replace that with a wraithlord with brightlance and elm, and 5 rangers, its just a lot more fire power, and rangers in cover are a pain to kill, if you have a wraithlord not too far away to deflect a mellee threat.
Or better yet... get banshees and a serpent.. think someone else said this.
