Sorry for the format, I cut and pasted it from Excel. I have been toying around with various mechanized lists lately, and I was thinking of trying this one next game. I know 1500 pts is kinda low for 2 warbosses, but I want to keep my model count fairly low but not lose too much effectiveness. I have been running a list with 2bw and 3 truks recently, but I find myself dissatisfied with my vehicles after I have disembarked as they don't really pose a threat/draw fire after my troops are out of them. I figured if I put some firepower on them, then my opponent wouldn't be inclined to ignore them after the troops get out... Obviously I would use the battlewagons to screen the truck. Anyways, let me know what you think.

why the upgraded guns on the wagons? you're going to move it's full distance so it won't be able to shoot anything........Drop them. BW's should have 1 big shoota, ram/rolla, maybe rpj.

First, drop the megawarboss for a KFF mek. Give your wagons a 4+ cover save. You don't want to be walking your squads up the board if you take a penetrating hit. Remember BW's have only 12 side armor (easily popped).

Second, drop the meganobz squad. Throw either a full group of lootas or burna boyz in a battlewagon instead. Lootas are nice to pop rhinos/chimeras etc. so you don't waste your assault just trying to open the transport. Get them out of their transports! Burna boyz are deadly as it's template x #models in squad. They are also the best terminator killers the ork army has to offer as they can be uses as power weapons if they don't burninate the people!

As I said before, I wanted the vehicles to have some use after I drop the troops off. I guess I will see if I like the weapons firsthand next weekend as they aren't all built yet and I am making them so I can switch the weapons easily. The list I have been running for a while now is listed below. I have considered running burna boyz instead, but I thought it would be nice for everything to be troops. Plus, though burnas can smoke units when shooting out of a vehicle, they get killed just as easily as any other boy.

I'll chime in and second what's already been said. A KFF big mek will serve you a lot better than another warboss in a mechanized list (in general). I'm not a fan of the lootas but will swear by a nice big mob of burnas. Light infantry, templates and tons of wounds are check. Meqs? Tons of power weapons are check.

I'd also drop down those rokkit launchers a bit since you just want to get them into combat quickly rather than sit back and shoot.

I also truly hated having my meganobz shot out of a trukk and having to slog across the whole field with s&p. Once they never even got there. 220 pts totally wasted.

Your list is looking better, but I don't get the idea of having your transports draw fire after disembarking at all. Look at it this way: You're playing SM, IG, whatever and you're facing mech orks. When exactly would you rather fire at an empty Battlewagon than at the 7 angry nobs + warboss on your doorstep? Never, that's when. 4 big shootas is not certainly not enough, neither is a kannon, killkannon or anything else you can slap on a BW. Hate seeing a BW go to waste? Put a deffrolla on to it and at least annoy your opponent.

Also, if I were to face your second list (good as it is) I would always pour fire onto the warboss BW. 18 boys with mek doesn't compete as a target. Now, if those were 15 burna boys I might have to think it over...

The second list wasn't me refining the fist list. It is the list I have been running for the past few months. I like the second list, I have just been looking for a bit more punch.

If you are suggesting I switch out the 18 boyz for something, what would you suggest I get rid of? I am at 1500 exactly, so something would have to give. I guess I will give deffrolers a go, I was just thinking that 5 S8 shots a turn could be interesting. Even with the crappy BS I figure I have good odds with that many shots.

I will get back to the drawing board, but I figure I will try the shooty battlewagons at least once. Last game quite a few of my vehicles were immobilized and I was just frustrated that such expensive toys couldn't contribute more.

I agree wirh deffrollas on the BW and keeping it opentopped. Since you are dissatisfied with your trukks and BWs after you disembark have you used them to tank shock or ram? You could also use them as mobile cover. Have your boyz disembark then next turn run them up in front of your boyz at the most intimidating guns in front of that squad.

Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel, its just a freight train coming your way!

Let's see... getting rid of all the BW shootas, two rams on the Trukks and all cybork bodies should cover 15 burna boyz (including the points saved on boyz + PK Nob). Or drop some burna boyz and keep the rams + one big shoota on each BW to avoid "weapon destroyed" results from immobilizing them.
