I need tactics for beating down a vampire counts army. any tips???

“First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.” Or in my case, First they look at you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you lose. A short history of the Awesomarines

I don't have any tips to give, but I'd love to read some from others who know more...

Hmmm...

Alrighty then. Firstly, which hero are you using?

Secondly: Vampire Counts depend heavily on the magic phase. Obviously this is due to the fact that they can raise dead and gain additional movement, in addition to other spells. Try to kill the Vampire and the entire army suffers from there.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

Helps if you post up what he's typically bringing and what points levels you guys are at. Some of the baby vamps can be assassinated if he's not careful.

What points values?

On a delicate chain at her throat, she keeps it with her to this day.”

Unlike High and Dark Elves Wood Elves are more for magic denial being able to put out almost as much dispel dice as a dwarf army (I have 6 in 1000pts), what you should do is the following.
1. General - Always a spellsinger, nobles don't cut it for their points cost
2. 2 Branchwraiths, good suppourting wizards and better than heroes in a challenge on a statline-statline fight, give one a cluster of radiants and another an annoyance of nettlings.
and finally
3. Deploy to only counter a section of his army and then you can systematically wipe out the rest of the army.
