I guess I made my sergeants from a modelling perspective; chainswords are cool...

But now I think about it, surely Shock Troops are for shooting? I've pretty much deprived my army of a good dozen extra lasgun shots... I mean, I doubt one extra attack is going to be too good in CC ¬_¬

A new day, a new time zone.

Perhaps you should reread the sarge's required gear loadout in the codex.

Yeah, you used to be able to choose to not have the Laspistol and Close Combat Weapon, now you don't even have an option to give them a Lasgun. For absolutely no reason!

Just because anyone agrees with anyone, doesn't mean they are correct. Beware the thin line between what is "Correct" and what is "Popular."

Yep. This is the only thing I really dislike about the new IG Codex.

Personally I really like the aesthetic of the dude with pistol and sword leading his squad. It's very much more of a civil war era style of leadership (leader has revolver and saber while infantry have rifles.) But for gaming purposes he would often be better off with a lasgun. Many of mine are being modeled with power weapons...mwahahaha

I have no problem with the modelling, but couldn't he also have a slung Lasgun? I have tanker Carbines I would love to model into their backs to show they are carrying an upgraded weapon.

Rifles were long range weapons for shooting at the enemy. Civil war revolvers were short range weapons for shooting fleeing soldiers.

I like the pistol+sword look for sergeants, but it would have been a nice touch if they just gave sergeants pistol+sword+rifle. The guard don't need a tenth of their foot soldiers standing around waving a sword in the middle of a battle, commissars and officers should be enough.

The Polito form is dead, insect. Are you afraid? What is it you fear? The end of your trivial existence?

Ubergrit for Sergeants would be cool. I wish the shotgun option was still around, too.

I preferred shotgun sergeants.
Pistol/sword belong on command and nobility (and Commissars)

Glad to see some things haven't changed. *snickers*

You can give the vet sergeants a shotgun, as well has his entire squad.
