Hi all, I plan to make my IG like the adeptus arbites, however i need riot shields, I have searched on the internet and can't seem to find any!
Can anyone give me any ideas or suggestions?

That is a tough one. I immediately thought of Crocodile Games because they sell shield bits for their Ageyptus range.

You could sand down the orbs on the face of the shield to get an entirely flat surface and paint a view port for the trooper or paint the majority of the shield a solid color and then paint one or more of the orbs in a jeweled glass effect to give the impression that the orbs were the viewing area.

They sell metal riot shields as bitz they also have sprues of plastic guys with riot shields, 10 for 5UKP.

The sprues also have some nice shotguns (though they are a bit small on a GW figure).

Would you rather buy...

A full box of non GW stuff including shields that already look like riot shields, and other bitz you can actually use in 40K, for 5 Pounds

Or a box of LotR stuff from GW with shields that you need to shave down and bitz you can't use, and will probably cost close to $40 US?

I think the answer here is pretty straighforward...

I have a friend who converted Adeptus Arbites with riot shields, using the shields from Bretonnian Men-at-Arms. It worked quite well.

The Viridians also have a plastic sprue but they look more like Halo troopers than Arbites.
