So I was trying to decide which I thought was better between glade riders and dark riders. My first thought was multiple shots for less points, no brainer. But then I started thinking about the -1 to hit for moving and shooting and the -1 for multiple shots and when you add in the increased range, I'm thinking the cost might be worth it.

All of this made me think about other options in fantasy too. I would like your thoughts on the matter.

What is the best war machine and which army has the best to offer?

Who are the best skirmishers?

Who are the best fast calvary and heavy cavalry?

Which is the best magic lore?

Best monsters?

Best infantry?

Elite unit?

Shooters?

I am sure there are a whole lot more areas to choose from, but I think this is more than enough to start with. A little explanation with your opinion would be nice too.

For best fast cavarly i'd say pistoliers, they do everything fast cav are supposed to do better than any other unit in the game. There only downside is the range on their guns is limited, otherwise there brilliant.

Best skirmishers would have to be wardancers. Yes they are abit frail but can hit with a ton of bricks and with their intiative they are almost always going to be fighting first, except cheezy ASF. The best heavy cav in the game has to to choas knights. The best monster in the game still has to be the hydra for all those attacks and cheapness in points wise or maybe the abonimation. The best infantry in the game would have to be ASF black guard as they own almost all their equals in other armies. The best infantry would have to be sea guard with the abilty to fight in three ranks, shoot and ASF they can really put the hurt on fast cav and other so called light to heavy infantry. The best fast cav have to pistoliers i just love these guys. The reaper and repeater bolt throwers are hands down the best warmachines in the game because of the ability to shoot 6 times at str 4 ap or one str 6 shot, the only ones that can come close are dwarven war machines with runes. The best shooting units as for points are repeater x-bowmen. So what about the negs for multi shots. face down 80 dice from shooting in one turn and see how you feel.

Glade Riders also have the advantage of being able to move straight through a wood with no penalty.

Best monster is the Hydra due to it's aggressive points cost.

Best fast cavalary are IMO Dark Riders, not Glade Riders. Cost 2 points less per model with repeater cross bows, have eternal hatred, light armour and their only used command (musician) costs 2 points less than Glade Riders musician. Glade Riders get to go through woods, though.
Best skirmishers are Shades, hands down.
Best heavy cavalary would be Chaos Knights.
Best monster is either Way Hydra or Hell Pit Abomnition.
Agreed with LunaHound about best elite, 2 attacks with S5 and WS 6, and all this ASF? Feels good being a Helf.

For me - the best infantry should be Ironbreakers. Runed up, possibly with a character, they're incredible.

Eeeeh, wargaming weren't like this back in my day!

Yay for the wardancers love I'm going to go ahead and agree even though I haven't tried them yet, on the basis of sheer awesomeness and number of attacks!
