Sybarite Swinging an Agonizer

Hey all, quick question. I've recently ordered a Scythed Hierodule from FW, which is armed with 4 scything talons. When it was released (and when the rules were written in IA: Apoc), Scything Talons added +1 Attack, or +2 for 2 pairs. However, now that we have a new Codex (and the rules for scything talons refer to re-rolls), how does this affect the Apoc units?
Currently, the Scythed Hierodule has 7 base attacks (there are no '+2' in the profile). Going by the new Codex, this would be reduced to 5. Do I use the 'Nid Codex rules (5 attacks with re-rolls) or the Apoc rules (7 attacks, no re-rolls), or indeed a combination of both?
Thanks for any help. I realise Apoc is a 'YMMV' area, but people's views on this would be appreciated.

Under the description, does it say the bonus attacks are already added to the profile; if no then it stays at 7 and get eh re-roll all, otherwise i would have to say that it drops them and just gets the re-roll all.

It's Apocalypse, YMMV
If it has 7 Attacks on its profile it keeps those 7 attacks and also gets to Re-roll to hit.

I dont have imperial armour, but does it state what scything talons do in the book or say to look at codex:tyranids? if it says refer to the nids dex, then you have 7 attacks that rerolls to hit. if it states what the scything talons do in the IA book, then you have to follow that.

My thoughts exactly. The first 4 posts are like the 4 stages of evolution of a rumour thread.
1 - Rumour
2 - Sarcastic rebuttal
3 - Sensible discussion
4 - Wishlisting |

It says '4 scything talons (additional attacks included).' Therefore the Attacks characteristic just says '7' rather than '5+2'.
That's all there is, no reference to Codex: Tyranids. The fact it's saying 'additional attacks included' though makes me think it should lose 2 attacks and gain re-rerolls.
I would normally hold out for an FAQ/Errata, but I can't see FW releasing one too quickly

You cannot know, any longer, that it should lose two attacks - as only the previous book tells you that!
So it stays at 7 attacks and gains rerolls. Nasty

Actually, FW is pretty damn good about updating IA for new codex releases, just look at IA volume 2.

Finding a Fabergé Egg in the middle of a Potato Farm does not mean they grow there (Translation from Drunk: A one off miracle doesn't mean it's a regular occurrence).

Your argument is null because the egg in question is not grown, it is carefully crafted. Thus there is no way it could grow at all.

You can't prove it didn't grow!
So, final answer:
It keeps it's attacks AND gets the awesome new effect but as it is Apocalypse YMMV and you should make it up as you go along.
