I know its most likely been done, or allready thought of... but basicaly, this allows me to paint my space wolves up in red (looks better with quickshade) and be able to call them blood angels when they get a new dex... or nilla marines. 3 armies in 1, whats not to like

i think i can explain this away be saying they are a renagade (great?) company.

so what do yall think? to much, or go for it?

Huh ... according to wiki

In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response[1] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion

I was asking the gaming community if they thought trying to call darkish red marines space wolves whilst saying "they went renegade" was over the top.
And calling these same darkish red marines blood angels if I like their new dex.

I put it in background because of the reneged company thing... though I suppose I could have posted it in painting and modeling

I think that using all 3 marine codexs is considered inflammtory. We arent a very respected bunch right now, with 3 new dex's in less than a year.

I aint made of money, I rely on trades, Christmas, and birfday to build up my pile of unpainted 40k stuff... limited spending, MAYBE a box every 1-2 months out of pocket.

With nids getting redone and needing to buy a few of the new nasties the wallet is especially tightened up.

If I can finagle my way around to getting 3 armies with only shelling out the $$ for 1 then why shouldn’t I? or should i buy 4 rhinos and paint them blue, another 4 to be red, and yet another 4 to be painted another color... then there is all of the other SM and chapter SM stuff that i would need to buy 3 or 4 times over only to paint them differently.

In your case its not as bad but the op wants to play as the new codex while its powerfull then switch to another new codex when it gets powerfull without buying new mini's...

its almost as bad as playing wolves then playing nids with the same army...

Cept I actually have nids if I want to play nids.
Im not saying I want to call the marines a different race... marines will still be marines.

And I have yet to see someone come up with a valid argument as to why I shouldn’t do this aside from
"Bitch bitch bitch moan bitch moan bitch bitch*

Of course, this is the interweb... should I really have expected something different?

and when the heck did i say anything about only wanting to play the new army when they are powerfull then switching over to the new dex when it becomes powerfull...

I would kinda agree with the OP here. I mean, I don't like the SW models very much, so should I still buy loads of them to play SW? No. AND, the OP's just being smart with his money anyway! Think about it: Vanilla gives you cool stuff for a shooty list, and that's fun... for a while. Why not just buy the SW codex and make a more assaulty list from your cache of guys? Have a fetish for jump-infantry and don't think they're useful in a SW/Vanilla 'Dex? Be Blood Angels for that game. It's all OK as long as it's WYSIWYG for most/all of the guys (I'm personally fine with counts-as special characters) and just so long as the guy has a list from whatever 'Dex he chooses ready BEFORE the game so he doesn't just switch armies once he knows his opponent.

Seems fair to me.

Sadly, your Leman isn't mine, but if they stopped using standard engines and switched to Lucifer Pattern, they could move like they're mine. Look down, back up. Where are you? Your in a battlefield with the Rhino your Leman could move like. Whats in your hand, back at me, I have it, it's the fire control for the Twin-linked Assault Cannons aimed at you. Look again, it's a Deep-Striked Land-Raider. Anything is possible when your Tanks move like Blood Angels, and not like Guardsmen. I'm on a Baneblade.

I'd be fine as long as you didn't pick which codex you would use based on your opponent to try to get an advantage. Just use whatever list, model everything correctly or a logical counts-as, and inform your opponent what everything is.

I don't see a problem with this. A friend of mine bought a ton of Dark Angels models and the Dark Angels codex before realizing that he could implement his strategies and gameplay styles better with the vanilla Marine codex. So he bought the codex, and uses it most of the time. However, sometimes he wants to go crazy with some terminators, so he switches back to the Dark Angels codex. There's no problem whatsoever with this, and I've seen numerous people on this very website suggest that Dark Angels players use the vanilla codex.

I Agree, with the correct wargear what is the problem if it is a SW, BA, DA, SM, if it has the wargear as it would in another codex or has different rules what difference does it really make. To buy 4 armies of Marines is just honestly a ridiculous idea, so why would that change if he wanted 2-3 different marine armies that could be counts as anything.
