There are 2 players are in assault can a 3rd player shoot in to that assault? If so how would wounds be distributed?

I see nothing allowing them to fire into the combat, as it just states that shooting into it is not allowed, with no attempt to say who would be shooting.

Of course, the rulebook is written with the understanding of a 2 person game.

The rules for a 3-way game are on page 272-273 of the rulebook.

Shots into close combat not involving your own units are randomised. If you're using that scenario.

If you're just doing a 3-way game of your own devising, it's up to you how it's handled.

Well all be darned it is... My friends and I have been wondering how it would be fair to do something like that and now we know. Thanks for pointing that out Insaniak.
