So, what with Tyranids losing the effects of Synapse that prevent Instant Death, that seems to open the game back up to weapons that cause Instant Death. I'm not talking about, say, a Missile Launcher cutting a Space Marine in half, but weapons whose special rules involve Instant Death in some way. Such as:

Force Weapons
Fabius Bile's Rod of Torment
Blissgiver Daemon Weapons
Wraithcannons
Distort Cannons
Talassarian Tempest Blade
Soul-Devourer Daemonic Gift
The Skulltaker
The Decapitator

And what else?

Moonfang (Khan) on a 6.
Claw of the Desert Tigers (Al'Rahem).

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

I'm particularly excited about taking my Chaos Lord w/ Blissgiver out of the dark depths of my 'unused models' bin. Spent so long painting him only to realize that the opportunities to use him in any effective way were few and far between.

Slaneesh may seem fun now, but when you find yourself in bed with a he-goat and several implements of pain, you'll know you've gone too far. -Emperor's Faithful

I think that guy will have alot more options now, especially if you put him on a mount. +1 attack and extra charge range means you can spank a MC and as long as you don't roll a 1, you should be just fine.

Yeah, I'm pretty excited, honestly. My Nid friend loves how invincible his Carnifex is. Or rather, was.

As for the rolling of the one, it can be aggravating, but I've grown to love some of the more random aspects of the codex, to the point of actually wanting a few more units like that.

I think you'd be better off with a Jump Pack if you're planning on hunting monstrous Tyranids with an Instant Death weapon. That way you can go over screening units rather than taking the time to go through them.

Good point, I shouldn't really be hurting for a massive number of attacks with the Daemon weapon anyway.
