The Pearl Paints near me is closing, everything is 75% off but there's not much left in stock.

Darn shame, it was a great place to get brushes and the only place around that sold plasticard.

So if there's one near you check it out fast.

Many of the Pearl stores are closing. My girlfriend and I stopped in the one in Maryland yesterday and didn't realize it until we got there and the place was nearly picked over! She got over $100 of pastels for a few dollars, and I grabbed a couple cutting mats and some pin vise bits.

The brush aisle was devastated. They had a lot of plastruct stuff, but I couldn't think of anything I really needed.

Apparently the Florida, LA and a couple other locations will remain open, but most are closing.

I hit the Pearl Arts and Crafts in Philadelphia. The website said 50% off, so I thought it might not be too badly devastated. Got to the store, and it was 75% off.

Like already mentioned, brushes were picked over, but there was still some stuff tucked away if you walked around. I ended up with quite a haul:

Exacto blades and mitre box set
Jeweler's saw blades
brass rod
plastruct white sheets of styrene, stone wall sheets
Liquitex Flo-aid, Extender, and matte medium

and then I found the airbrush case, and grabbed an Iwata compressor and Paasche airbrush

75% off is a great thing (but at the same time sad for the store).

I'll miss Pearl.
