Is there any rules or any issue with Chaos mixing gods in their army?

Can I have a team that had Prince Sigvald the Magnificent, with some chaos warriors, and some khorne warriors?

Yes, you can mix & match as much as you like nowadays. Even a Khorne-marked character can join Tzeentch-marked unit and so on...

Which, from a flavor perspective, ain't right. I still think single-god forces are the way to go.

GW decided that mixed Chaos forces didn't make sense, so no more Mortals, Beasts and Daemons playing together.

Too... chaotic.

But, GW decided that Khorne and Slaanesh are best buds now, and so are Nurgle and Tzeentch.

Heck, Tzeentch and Khorne are hangin' out together too these days...

Yup... you now have 3 armies...
Warriors of chaos (humies!)
Daemons of chaos (just daemons and nothing else)
Beasts of chaos (which no longer have the shaggoths and stuff) (oh and they dont have marks... I guess they arent even chaos now?

Yes, the books have no allowances to take "allies" from either book - all codexes are seperate entities.

Chaos still have "greater" and "lesser" daemons, however these are generic stat'ed beasts with no special abilities specific to a certain Chaos God. However thsi does mean you coudl use Horrors, letters, 'nettes for lesser daemons with no issue.

Yes. It does.

Daemons or Chaos Marines. Not both.

Weird, but true.

GW 'beancounters' are probably behind the decision, in an effort to 'force' you to buy 3 complete armies instead of bits and bobs of each to make an army.

Possibly sound from a financial standpoint, but all it made me do is shelve certain units and/or sell some off too...

The explanation that was given to me by the peoploe at WHW in Notts was that they have been getting away from "mixed" armies, which rely on 2+ books, ever since they stopped Storm of Chaos. It also allowed them to expand the ranges beyond what could fit in 1 or even 2 books.

Make of that what you will!

With you Manfred, though I do enjoy duo-god lists when designed well, and the Pantheon style where you get a hero from each god and a unit from each as well. But neither of those are skittles

As noted, while breaking the books apart, thus removing (most) Beasts and Daemons and Mortal units from each other's books, GW has removed all restrictions on mixing different gods' units, marks, and stuff.

Heck, you can take an Exalted with the Mark of Tzeentch, give him Fury of the Blood God, and stick him in a unit of Nurgle-marked Knights, equipped with the Rapturous Standard. It's a total free-for-all.
