I am devising my own regiment for IG at the moment- bit of a veteran/survivors regiment. One thing that struck me after reading IG codex is that there are no h.stubbers available for the infantry and yet pretty much every book yo uread about IGs got stubbers as staple heavy weapon for the infantry. i was thinking about adding possibility for the infantry platoons to take stubbers- special weapon option, one person weapon and I donno- 5-6 points? What do others think?

I run them in infantry squads as the heavy weapon, and stat it like the hvy bolter...i use the stubber model that is...5 pts is the minimum you can really pay for something, and it's the same as the h bolter, so...

I was really hoping that they would be in the latest IG book as a special or heavy weapon, but no luck. I would think that it would be a special weapon, and cost 5 or so points.

I agree that it should be a special weapon; it's just not big enough to be worth using a team for. As it's close to a flamer on the scariness table, I'll agree to five points.

yep I made meself a squad of veterans with "ragged, naileating survivors" in mind, like, a strangely autonmus unit amongst the rest of the unthinking potheads...... and well, that heavy bolter just looked way to cumbersome for such a scout unit so I tokk a heavy stubber from them vehicles and mounted it on a tripod... and just slap "count as heavy bolter" on it, works perfectly!
(I guess the fact that it got superior strenght and AP compared to the rest of the heavy stubbers in the regiment just is uh.... testament to the skill and accuracy of these vets! yes, thats it)

hmh well how about altering its profile to 36" Heavy 3 AND! 18" Assault 2... as a testament to its lightweight construction and easy-to-assemble guide!
