So... If a couple of raveners deepstrike in out of synapse range, do they then have to pass a leadership test in the turn they arrive or else be reduced to instinctive behavior? The instinctive behavior rule says "in the beginning of the movement phase" and the deep strike rules says you arrive "in the beginning of the movement phase".

It was ruled for the previous Codex that for the Deep Striking turn they are not subject to Instinctive Behavior.

By whom? Couldn't find it in the official FAQ.
Our thoughts: The rulebook says that the deepstrike occours: "in the beginning of your movement phase" whereas the Instinctive Behavior rule says: "in the beginning of their movement phase". So firstly you "activate" yourself and roll for reserves etc, then you "activate" your units one by one, and when you get to the Raveners they have to check for synapse.
Anyone got anything else or something more concrete than "it was ruled that way by unknown person on the web (unless it's Gwar, then we'll respect it )

If you have to take the test for IB during the movement then this could follow arrival via deepstrike, however the codex states you take the test at the beginning.

Deep strike also says it occurs in the beginning of the movement phase. So what happens first?
Looking forward to Gwar in this thread...

I think they would still have to take the test, but it would be meaningless. If they fail the IB test they get the Rage USR, Deep Striking is still arriving from reserves, just a special form of it, and the Reserve rules say any rules which force you to move in a certain direction are ignored on the turn you arrive from reserves (It actually specifically cites Rage as it's example) I think Lurk would be ignored too, since if you were forced to Lurk when arriving from reserves normally, it would lock you out off the board. So I think that would be grounds enough to ignore it, even if you were deepstriking. So I think you still by RAW should test for both of them, but neither will have any effect on the turn you arrive from Reserves (note that you are allowed to ignore the whole rule, not just the movement effecting part) Gorlack wrote:Looking forward to Gwar in this thread...

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Check the rulebook. Any unit entering the table that could suffer from a movement debilitating effect ignores it the turn they come on. Or something like that...I think it's in the mission sections (haven't got the book on me so I can't give a page).

Indeed it says so... Hm... Think you might have a great point. While I still think you have to make the check, the unit ignores the effect if it fails (so think we'll pass on rolling the test ).
Thanks mate.

Huh, the Alcomehole must be really getting to me, I don't remember that!
In any case, things that happen "at the Beginning of the movement phase" occur in whatever order you want.
No rules support, but INAT support, which is the best you are going to get I am afraid. Automatically Appended Next Post: Drunkspleen wrote:Gorlack wrote:Looking forward to Gwar in this thread...
