do units benefiting from the mek boy's KFF get a cover save against barrage weapons? i was under the impression that barrage weapons ignored cover save because they fired their ordinance so high in the air.. clarification please.

The Kustom Force Field gives the models in range a cover save, not the status of "In Cover", barrage weapons only have a different method for determining if a model is In Cover to normal, and even then, if it's wargear granted it will probably override the barrage weapon rules.

In short: Yes, the units in the KFF still get their cover save.

Reread the rules on determining "in cover" for barrage - it is worked out by "is there cover between the centre of the blast and the model" - so standing in area terrain is sufficient to gain a save, as is havin a wall between you and the blast centre, or indeed having a KFF.

Yes, a KFF gives cover saves against Barrage.
