Looking for a how to video or description on how to chip paint. I ran across an post on dakka about a week ago but i just cant find it again :(.

first few steps where basing then using 3 coats of hairspray then continue painting. With a brush and water brush the areas to get the paint off. The end result would be as if layers of the armor where chipped or stripped by erosion or etc.

Id like to finish my death guard champion switih this effect but i need help finding. I have tried the search result but I just get to many offtopic posts.

Thanks for helping
(trying to finish my 2250 army for sunday's escalation tournament!)

Might I recommend going the route of Liquitex Liquid Masking as a slightly easier alternative to the Salt/Hairspray technique. Just dab it on in the same spots you want the salt, then use an eraser afterwards to pull it off. I had it recommended to me from a train modeler who knows his stuff, but I haven't yet done it myself. Just an option that might be easier.
