Hey guys,

Just been looking for meltaguns... My vets need one and my CCS needs two and yet every Bitz site I come accross (including BitzBox) seems to be out of stock of Cadian meltaguns, I might have to consider using SM ones but they're held differently to IG ones so they'd stick out :-/

Any ideas? Links?

Thanks.

For my veterans Im going to take the lasguns off the normal arms and put the melta/plasma there, might look odd but I suppose if you keep that through out the squad and army it should look ok.

Plus in the guard boxes you get 4 sets of the special weapons so you could cut the weapon off and replace it with the melta weapon.

I bought the metal ones, only problem with them was there is already a hand on the pistol grip, havent got them to fit right yet because of that

Cheat. Ends of metal multi-melta sponsons cut easily and clean up well. That and a bit of guitar wire for cable. Mind you, I think I have a spare one knocking about in my bits box (though, it may be a SM one, I may be wrong) - feel free to pm me.

Cheers Vindicator. I'm using this with my Carapace vets, based of Future Tommy models, though the principle's the same whatever you use as your base weapon. I would say use grey rather than green stuff for any gaps, btw, as it takes a hard edge better. I'll try to post a pic of the ones I've done later this weekend (one is currently minus a head, or I'd do it sooner).

What I did was cut off the grip and stock (don't use your plastic clippers for this). Then I took some unused Cadian grenade launcher arms and cut off the grenade launcher, leaving just the grips. Without the stock the back of the melta should just about hit the shoulder, the former location of the grip more or less matches where the grip goes, and the side handle attaches to the side of that pointy thingy at the top. This will make your model top heavy, so be prepared to weight the base.

If you don't want to attempt a conversion and you can't find any of the appropriate bitz you could just buy the metal melta gunners. On the bad side those are metals and you also pay for the plasma gunner that comes with them.

In the end I've gone for the metal meltas... no idea how it's gonna turn out.

Perhaps if you do a hand transplant from some SM onto the guardsmen who have the melta gun.

Make it look like he's got gauntlets on so the hands match?

I did this with my guard, although it was a plasma gun from the metal arbites but the size is about the same.
