I'm a fairly new chaos player, and recently encountered the horror of th/ss marine terminators
Okay, this may sound really stupid, but how the heck do you kill them
ridiculous 3+ inv save is what gets me, normal terminators would be cake for kharn and my zerks, but that save...
oh and i'm running a very unfluffy army with plague marines, berserkers, chosen, and a lot of rhinos

Quantity of shots seems to work for me...
The more armor saves they are forced to make the more 1's they will roll. If you really want to soften them up combine units. Don't just attack with one squad, attack with two, three, etc. Try to stay out of charge range and pump as many shots as you can into them.

Or simply run away from them in your rhino's and take objectives/get some easier kill points.

The eye of terror.

Berzerkers kill them pretty well on the charge, due to hitting and wounding on 3+, barring the vagaries of luck of course.

Why do you feel that your army is unfluffy? Mixed warbands are perfectly fluffy in the current codex, and in old fluff as well. The 3.5 codex was not the only source of chaos fluff ever.

Why did the berzerker cross the road?

Weight of Fire.
And not much else.
Lash them away if that is an option for you.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

You have the cheesiest power in the game to deal with them. Lash of Submission and if you want to get extra cheesy run a dual lash list.

Chaos Terminators do fine.

Loyalist (TH/SS) (2 attacks, 1 hits, 5/6 wounds, 5/12 gets through save)
Traitor (MoT, Pair LC)(3 attacks, 1.5 hits, 9/8 wounds, 9/24 gets through save)
Traitor does slightly less damage, win due to initiative.

For a bargain solution, Ksons hold em up just fine, and Zerks can polish them off if the #'s are right (2 zers per loyalist should see em dead before they swing back)

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

How to deal with Assault terms?

Step 1: Break their transport. Can't do nuthin' to them if they're in a land raider.

Step 2: Small arms fire. Light them up with your bolters. Given their strong invul, might as well just go for weight of shots.

Step 3: Assault the survivors with berzerkers. Kharn, even though he's excellent, should not be assaulting AssTerms. Too dangerous.

yeah, i've tried berserkers before
i was thinking of maybe assaulting with my thousand sons, Ahriman would maybe kill one or two with his uber wind of chaos, then I would lock them in combat and hopefully kill some over time
oh, and just spam gift of chaos as long as ahriman is alive to hopefully kill some
Once i had taken care of him troops, if my sons were alive I would send kharn and his berserkers after them, and would probably kill the rest of the squad
And i had no idea chaos terminators can actually be more effective in a sense
ha gotta go get some of those sometime
thanks for the input so far
EDIT: oh, and just to clarify, can lash pull people out of combat?

The eye of terror.

No, lash may not even be used on units that are in combat as it is a psychic shooting attack.

Why did the berzerker cross the road?

ah okay, that's what I thought
also, kind of off topic, but can you use lash on walkers?

If i could lash the terms off me for a couple turns, i could have chosen or similar shoot a bunch of plasma at them

The eye of terror.

I think if you looked up the rules for lash in the chaos codex it would answer a lot of these simple questions for you.

Don't forget the GW FAQ too, for them GW House Rules to smooth some things over.

I think the best way to kill them is Abaddon! (or possible a titan)

Abaddon would also fit well with your mixed war band army

"Innocence Proves Nothing... Except That You've Done Nothing Wrong"

Welcome to the Daemonhunters, the ranks of the exalted Ordo Malleus and their cannon fod....er, I mean, loyal allies. Remember...the only ones who need fear the righteous might of the Ordo Malleus are the Daemonic.

quote: Dashofpepper: ...sad rivulet of demon prince tears. He ponders for a moment, then lashes the demon hunters into him. He assaults them, kills a terminator or two....and then demon hunters being demon hunters....they proceed to wtfpwn him. Second player leaves the table...

How about a Havoc squad w/ 4XPlasmaguns? If you can rapid-fire 'em, that ought to do some damage!

(looks again)

Whoops - sorry! Didn't see the "invulnerable save" part!

Weight of fire is the standard medicine for any unit with a save of 2+/X+. The more saves your opponent is forced to roll the better.
