Hullo and welcome to the wonderful world of the Asur! And without further ado, some dispensation of suggestions:

Heroes-

As is, this guy isn't going to do much. At least not by himself. I would consider bumping him up to a Lvl2 mage, and find points for a second hero (probably another mage). The High Elves, imo, tend to really need the help of their heroes.

Core -
At 1000 points, you only need to field one Core Unit - I suggest taking this option. Judging by the composition of the rest of this list, I presume you're basing this mostly off of the High Elf Battalion. I'll try to make comments to make use of that set, but it's not exactly the best set in the world to play with.

Cheapest way to fulfill your Core requirements is to just have 10 Archers as a unit. No real good reason to ever really use them in units bigger than 10 unless you really have nothing else to spend the points on.

While I like the Spearelves, even at 1000 points, 16 of them won't be doing too much damage. Personally, I'd drop these guys in favor of a second Hero (you can get another Level 2 Mage with these points). It'll make you a far bigger threat in the Magic Phase.

Special -
Swordmasters are fine (though honestly, if you take my suggestion of getting a second mage, you probably can skip the banner of arcane protection and get the cheaper, yet still powerful Banner of Ellyrion. It'll let them move quickly through woods - which is good since you'll want them to avoid getting shot at). Worst case, if you're somewhat pressed for points, drop one of the Swordmasters and run the unit in a 7x2 formation (you maximize the number of hit backs against most blocks). Just make sure these guys get Shield of Saphery cast on them - they're going to attract a lot of attention from your opponents.

Silver Helms are not ideal. If you're putting them in the list for lack of other models, so be it, but otherwise, see if you can proxy/convert them into Dragon Princes. Seven points per model more, but MUCH more effective in combat.
