In most cases I even prime them on the sprue so that they don't fly all over the place.

Ya'll just use a dab of glue to tack 'em on afterward, or a bit of GS?

Glue everything together, then paint. If the brush can't reach the spot, no need to paint it. Once the model gets on the table, nobody is ever going to notice.
