So, I do still like to use them as one of the tools in my painting arsenal.
Unfortunately, they're starting to run low. Some more than others.

I was wondering if anyone knows who manufactured them and if they're still available.

I remembered hearing that Coat D'Arms did GW's paints but, from what I've found online, they manufactured the OLD stuff, not the newer stuff that dried up easily. Same for the inks.

So, I'm looking for good (color matching) replacements or a line on the manufacturer.

Thanks, Dakka!

You could try Vallejo inks from their game line. They have similar inks. :linky:

I'm not sure how close they are to the actual GW inks as I haven't run out of my stock of GW inks.

It's a shame, isn't it. Blue Ink is one of my favourite GW paints(see the model to the left in my sig).

I would still try Coat D'Arms - they taste better for a start!
The only really decent ink in the last GW range was chestnut anyway IMO.

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

well, i know the valejo game color range, is match for match, with GW's paint line, so i dont see why the game color inks would be any different from that.

Oh stop complaining, its for the greater good... Now get in the box!

I'm almost out of yellow, and the only place where I found a list of their inks did not have yellow listed. That's why I posted here.

Honestly, I hadn't looked. Somehow, if got past me that Vallejo gig "Game Color" inks, too. Thanks!

@fafnir - Yes. The blue is awesome. It's why I bought 2 when I heard they were discontinuing them. : )

Thanks for the info everyone.

@KK
Do they match GW's ink colors? That's a VERY important aspect to me.

Thanks!

That is not what I'm led to believe, from what I've read.
What I saw indicated that they're the old OLD GW stuff.

Also, as I said, the list of available paints and inks did not include a yellow ink.

Is there any place in the US to get Coat D'Arms inks? I'm dying for some of that old Chestnut ink.

Yeah, I am nearly out of chestnut and the old flesh wash was great, I loved that color.

Coat D Arms' inks, from what I've come to understand, actually from or are the same manufacturer that did GW's old inks. I'd look there for anything first and Vallejo second.

"From the fires of Betrayal unto the blood of revenge we bring the name of Lorgar, the Bearer of the Word, the favored Son of Chaos, all praise be given to him. From those that would not heed we offer praise to those who do, that they might turn their gaze our way and gift us with the Boon of Pain, to turn the Galaxy red with the blood, and feed the hunger of the Gods."

The current paint for Sale from GW are the 4th set. The 3rd set are the ones that dried out and did not include the foundation and washs people love now. The 2nd ones are are the hex pots with blue and white flip top lids. The 1st were the fluted round bottels similar to the current coat D'arms bottles of today. So haveing saod all that what edition are you asking for? If its 1st or 2nd then Coat D'arms are your man.

actually there was a set before that call the 'expert paint set' and consisted of 9 inks in dropper bottles (like mini Valejo ones). I still have & use some of them.

Coat'd'arms can be had in the US from scalecreep miniatures (scalecreep.com) and they have yellow ink (in stock too). probably worth a go to see if it is the same, or close enough.
