*just read through it, and imo think that it is pretty decent, 1 question though, what is the feathering technique?

I think that with "feathering" they mean "drybrush with a very small brush".

I think "feathering" means is when you brush small thin lines of colour using very careful strokes with the tip of your brush.

A good article on the subject of feathering. The GW technique is the "basic" version of feathering to achieve a highlight that looks like a broken/cracked carapace.
