Hey all I'm a brand new poster to Dakka Dakka and rather than introduce myself in the new members section I thought i'd get the ball rolling and see who on these forums is in my gaming area. I'm from Burbank, California and mostly game at Emerald Knights. Theres a semi-formal 40k tournament there at 1 on the 23rd, 1250pts. We've got a great community and its an awesome store.

Sounds cool man. Welcome to Dakka! Some of us in the Inland Empire have been meaning to make it out that way to play for a while, but that is quite a drive. If you ever wanna come out our way we play at GMI in Riverside; its a pretty awesome store and the people there are great.

Whoa! Is that the only Pegasus Games in the area??? I looked at the map and figured there is no way this dude drives that far to play in Pegasus Montclair and assumed there was a branch in the Northridge area. But man, that is quite a drive.
Also, I roamed arround the Pegasus Hobbies store and I could not figure out where people go to play (as I wanted to watch a Warmachine Game). The only door I saw that lead to the back which was open led to what looked like a storage room. I didn't ask because a game was starting on the table in the wargaming area and just watched that instead.

@Warlord: Honestly there isn't much in the way of gaming at Pegasus. I play at GMI in Riverside, and there is plenty of gaming there, and great guys to boot. I have a match down there tomorrow against another Dakkaite, you are welcome to come watch and meet us. PM me for details if you are interested.

I haven't played in ages but I go over to the Pegasus Hobbies store twice a month at least. I live in Rancho Cucamonga and I've been to GMI games a few times before to poke around. Nice people and all, but there's something off about them I can't really put my finger on. My friend says they are bad at listening to your questions and just answer your questions as if they were hard of hearing and only got bits and pieces of your question.

Ride with the top down, that way if someone provokes you, you can jump out and kick their @$$ in the same turn. |

I only make the trip when I'm with my friend Calvin (He's a professor at my college)
We may go on Saturday, depending on his schedule, I used to go to the GW in northridge but it closed, sadly the one in Glendale is living on a month to month schedule right now so I don't know where to game besides my dorms.
If anyone has any other places to meet up, i'm all ears because I can't make pegasus that often.
But if anyone's ever in my area you can reach me on my email (Svenhira@hotmail.com) Or PM me for my number.

Emerald Knights has 2 groups that show up frequently, Green Guard (who are kind of a smaller group for the younger Warhammer players) who meet every first and last saturday and the SoCal freebootas (the adult group)show up every third saturday of the month. I'd go to EK website http://ekcomicsandgames.com/ maybe call them and ask when the groups meet or check out their yahoo group and schedule a game

Are we talking about the same place? Are you sure you don't mean AGR in Riverside? GMI is great, they have as much space as the Bunker, the owners are really cool, and the other guys who play there are all very friendly and many of them are really, really good players. We also have huge mega-battles at least every other month, if not more frequently. There are some less social guys, but that is to be expected anywhere...

I went to GMI last Saturday and that was really bad timing because of the MTG Release. I hung out for a couple of hours though. Watched a Flames of War game and bought my Malifaux Crew.
There were a couple of GW players in a corner but I had to go. Were you one of them JEB?

So close but so far...
I live in Hawthorne, not having much luck finding anything close (Theres a store called Third Planet in Torrance but its pretty small and seems farily quiet). Maybe if theres an active weekend scene I could drive out, Burbank is closer, Riverside is 50ish miles i think.
Hrm.

Yeah I was there. Last weekend was REALLY crowded because of the games. I didn't get to GMI till 930 on Saturday though, because I had work. There were over 60 MTG players there, and we were really pressed for space.

Dude, that is too bad. GMI is a killer store, and they are always open really late, not to mention the really friendly people. People are always down for a pickup game or just hanging out and painting and talking. You should try and make it down once in a while.
On that note, I will be at GMI on Friday in the early afternoon and early evening, and will be there on Saturday as well from the early afternoon on. I am going to be painting like crazy, but I could be very easily talked into playing a game wif da boyz or my SM.
