Super glue. That is what i used on mine and it worked excellent.

I have heard that plastic glue is ineffective with them.

Yep. You need to use good ol' fashioned Cyanoacrylate(the stuff you SHOULD be using for metal models), since this is the plastic that was also used for Starship Troopers models and loathes Polystyrene Cement.

I don't know why anyone would use anything besides cyanoacrylate .

Currently I'm using Loctite 414 that a friend gave me. It is labeled as being for plastic and vinyl but works just fine on metal.

You should never, ever, ever use CA on GW's plastic models. EVER.

Really. Polystyrene bonds so much cleaner.

I would say the same exact thing, except switch CA and plastic glue around.

Then you're doing it wrong.

Polystyrene cement, first of all, is completely odorless and non-toxic.
Second of all, it 'melts' the plastic together to form a perfect bond.

The problem with plastic cement is that only works on polystyrene and ABS Plastic. The "soft" plastic that WizKids used for their Mechwarrior line is likely Polyethylene which generally doesn't react with solvents.

Cyanoacrylate? I'm intrigued. Is it so strong that I won't have to pin the model.

Sorry for sort of hi-jacking the thread.

"Cyanoacrylate" is fancy talk for the standard superglue you see repackaged in a package bearing their hobby shop's name.

In my 10 years of Warhammer experience I've never used a plastics glue, I've always used superglue.

Yes you will still have to pin metal to metal. But I've never had a single plastic piece break due to the glue.

I also am not a fan of needing to keep different glues around just for specific jobs. Cyanoacrylate does it all.
