Okay, so I'm starting out down the path of the Warhammer player. My Lizardmen codex should be arriving tomorrow with any luck. Now what do I need to know about Lizardmen in terms of tactics, model selection, etc?

Lizardmen have the best troops i can safely say.
Your Saurus with spear each gets 2 attacks each , 2 ranks of 6 wide = 24 attacks at str 4.

There are 2 types of Skinks , one that can skirmish which is always good because of jungle poison .

And the other type... not as good , but can include Kroxigo as cohort into troop selection.

Thats alittle bit from me ,
Boss_Salvage , Daba , and Khornholio will help you when they are online. Those 3 are very knowledgeable in Fantasy and always helps!

-Saurus warriors are as solid an option for core troops as you'll find. Big units can soak up a lot of punishment.

-Skink skirmishers, IMO, are the most underrated unit in the army. Their jungle poisons are very useful against most enemies.

-Temple guard aren't really worth it UNLESS you're taking a Slaan. Slaan with no TG=fail.

-A solid leadership stat, combined with Cold Blooded means that fleeing and counter charging is a good tactic to use. Bait with a unit of Skinks and counter charge with Cold Ones.

-Its entirely possible to field a good looking, very competitive, army using nothing but plastic models.

-Lizardmen are fun to play.

Good luck with the new army.
