My list
Tyranid prime 2 boneswords
Parasite
venomthrope
3 warriors with 2 bone swords
10 gants
tervagon with toxic and adrenal glands, catalyst
5 genestealers one broodlord
4 winged warriors.
Other nids
Hivetyrant with bonesword and lash whips, perfered enemy
2 tervagon toxic and adrenal glands
9 genestealers
18 gants
mission take enemy Objective, Dawn of war
set up
He sets up his tervagons and hive tyrant into cover.
I set my tervagon out in the open and warriors with the Tyranid Prime in a building
I won the roll to go first and he failed to steal.
My Nids
Turn one: Tervagon spawns 15 gants it gives them FnP warriors move out to behind the tervagon. wind warriors and parasite move on with genestealers. Everything is out of range to shoot so my turn ends
His Nids
turn one, . His tervagons spawns 20 gants total, they move up and fire combineing to take my spawned gant squad down to 12.
My Nids
Turn two. The rest of my army comes on. and I spawn another 15 gants! combined fire takes The tyrant down to two wounds, I miscast FnP and take a wound I end my turn
His Nids
Turn 2 He spawns about 19 gaunts total and one of his tervagon to the right runs out of steam. All together he has 49 gants to my 37. then my front unit of gants get blasted down to 9, his tervagons takes pot shots at mines but misses or fails to wound. He assaults with his have tyrant into my gants in cover and his front unit of gants into my gants, this takes his gants out of tervagon range. This is bad as I only lose 2 gant and is broght down to 8. His hive tyrant takes a wound grom the gants and downs them to about 10 after no retreat, I'd hoped for better. It's giving his gants perferred enemy.
My nids
turn 3 I spawn 8 more gants and my tervagon is done for this battle. (38 gants, not bad) The warriors and thenew unit of gants blast wildly into the fresh wave of gants incomming, my tervagon charges into battle. Mytricky opponet removes gants so it can't attack back and combat favors him 5 gants to 6.
his hive tyrand smacks down more of my gaunts
His Nids
turn 3 all his units move up, as he blocks me from claiming his Objective, He's playing for the draw now and pours fire into the winged warriors who took 2 wounds. He charges in with two units of gants and his tervagon, and It looks like i'm going to get swamped. I lose a warrior and 2 wounds off of another one, the rest of my first gant and 2 from the other. My troops step up to the plate with 7 wounds from the warriors, and 3 from the tervagon, and 6 from the counter attacking gants! While FnP kept my new gants going his lack of it cost him dearly.
My Nids
Turn 4. My winged warriors and the parasite assault the other tervagon and a unit of spawned gants protecting her. the gants are beaton and she is wounded but passes it's leadership check, and the parasite fails to insta kill it.
His Nids
Turn 4. his hive tyrant finishes the lone gant that was holding him . The big scum in the middle ends with my Prime and 2 warriors and tervagon beaten down to two wounds, andmy 5 guants in combat with his tervagon. The parasite and the Flying warriors bone swords do thier dirty work and gants die in droves, the wined warriors and the parasite consolidate into his objective, the game is mines.
We both had units that did nothinng for the battle, my venomthrope and genestealers who just ran up the field all battle and his genestealers who outflanked on the wrong side of the table.
What worked
warriors with bone swords rock, even more so with wings. Tyranid prime's buff to warriors is nice.
What sucked. venemthropes rang of protection is very small and a 5+ isn't that great.
Who I hated the most. Hive tyrant. I just hung on with one wound giving perfered enemy to everybody, I still think it sucks though, getting blasted by warriors and wounded by gants.

And whilst you're pointing and shouting at the boogeyman in the corner, you're missing the burglar coming in through the window.
Well, Duh! Because they had a giant Mining ship. If you had a giant mining ship you would drill holes in everything too, before you'd destory it with a black hole |

so do you think an all tervigon/termagant troops army is viable? (meaning those are your 6 troops choices but you still take stuff from the other slots to fill your needed roles)

No, but I think one is vital to a nid army. Let me explain.
A tervagon is a bad MC, and all the points you spend on it, Toxic and adrenal glans, and a Power almost runs you 200 points, you go over if you use sything talons. All that gets you is an MC that can be countered by what people use in thier army anyways. People set up for anti MEQ so your 3+ save might as well be N/A. I saw the other nid army and knew I had the game won, Not because I thought I was a better player, but because he didn't have enough points to boost his Tervagons. I knew My Nids with FnP and counter attack cound take the charge of some gants and win or at least tie. IF you were around for the first of his charges, I set it up so that he would get the charge but that would pull him out of buff range of his tervagon, after he took the bait it was only a matter of time. With twin bone swords on my warriors and the Parasite implant attack, I was just one 6 or Bonesword LD fail from crippling his army. I simply had better shooting, better CC, and better troops, His only real threat was the hive tyrant, who was tarpitted to save itself from being shot to death by my army.
Tevagons can be rendered useless by bad use of powers, luring the gants out of it's buff range, it's 3+save, and it's weakness th ID and suckage in CC. Oh and it can run out of babies turn 1. You can take 5 for 1000+ points, or 20 flying warriors with dual boneswords for under 910 points. Warrors who are faster, don't care about FnP, and cause ID. Maybe in a 2000+ battle.
