is it just me or is nobody using them in they're list. I don't think I saw a single one in the latest army lists. I haven't read the codex yet so I don't know if it's because they are weaker or because there are better choices. Your insight in the matter would be most welcomed

Most likely for now, it's better choices with the Mawloc. Everyone has a carnifex, not many have a Tygron. Why you think they are almost the same price as a Carni and that is why they went up in price. So you pick the Mawloc over the Carni, and more sales for GW.

The only reason GW will be getting Carni sales is so it can be kit bashed with the Mawloc to make the other 'Nid models that are not made.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Carnifexes are still very useful. They are strong, tough and powerful MC's that will wreck any form of armor they touch (str 9 2d6 Armor pen, not even a land raider is going to stand much of a chance).

In high point games (around 2500-3000+), you can sqaud them to fit more MC's onto the battlefield other than up to 3 trygon's. They are still high toughness, immune to most instant death, and like i said before... they WILL eat tanks. They even can take down pesky terminators with power fists rather nicely with the living battering ram rule.

I think people should also note that trygon's are a HUGE, very shiny new model and can be targeted extremely easy (railguns love those trygons, a sqaud of broadsides can kill one every 2 turns) and also can fail in attacking tanks (str 6 don't get far, even with 2d6)

Also, i like to point out that who would NOT get distracted by the huge, hungry, snake like creature that just emerged 5 feet away from you!

Anyhow.. back on topic and i just like to say Carnifexes are still very useful. A friend of mine use 2 of them with a trygon, tervigon and hive tyrant.

Cause subterranean assault is the new flash thing. Also maybe they are afraid of Jaws.. I 1 is pretty slow.

Also a base carni is 10 CSM plus icon of glory. not the cheap thing it was before.

Still you can take 9 of them. for 1440

As I replied to the other post, don't forget that the carnifex can multi task in a way that the trygon, mawloc, and tyrannofex cannot. It can shoot and still retain it's heavy assault capabilities.
