Can a Dark Eldar Reaver jet bike succubus buy a reaver jet bike as war gear?
Woundering if this is possible. The codex says the succubus can buy wargear...... i would assume you can't but have a friend that says there is no restrictions. Also can the shadow field prevent a wound when the dark eldar fails their save.

Why would you? The model already has one.

If you wanted to you could buy a second bike, but the effects would not stack. It would just be a waste of points.


Secondly Slap your "friend" and tell him to stop being an ass.

After that ask him to show you were it says his shadow field is on top of any other save he might have... He wont be able to because its just a normal 2+ invuln save (that he doesn't get to use if he takes a unsaved combat wound)

Also since he seems the type I would make sure he only ever uses one shadow field since its unique.

There are two ways this can go.

1) You say that since the "Reaver Jetbike" unit entry does not list the "Reaver Jetbike" wargear as something the unit has, the Succubus can buy a Reaver Jetbike, and would get a further +1S and +1T, however, in this case the rest of the squad would not only not be equipped with the Jetbikes, but not be considered a Jetbike unit type, so while they would still be S4 and T4 as listed in their profile, they would have to footslog as infantry.

2) Both players are reasonable people and agree that, you assume the unit to be already equipped with the jetbike, and also, that they have already benefitted from the jetbikes bonuses, obviously the Succubus would then get no benefit from buying a second.

Point out that his Reavers don't actually have Jetbikes, if he insists that the reference to them is sufficient to justify they do have them, then point out that only characters benefit from the reaver jetbikes based on the wording of their entry and so his reaver unit is still full of infantry. He should come around to your way of thinking soon enough.
