I came across the D6 Generation podcast a few weeks ago and I have been working through the archive. As a result, I've bought some miniatures (WH), been bitten by the Warmachine bug, looked at many games, subscribed to many podcasts and now joined this forum.

I started gaming in 1977 with games such as Traveller and The Empire of the Petal Throne. My interests have varied through a lot of RPGs (The Fantasy Trip, Call of Cthulhu, others) and SF games (Ogre, StarForce, Stellar Conquest, Imperium, others) and historical games. Much of my historical interests are in WWII and modern armor gaming, mostly using GDW's "Command Decision" series of games. I have several "game divisions" of vehicles and enough terrain to cover more than a 4x8 table.

I took a break for several years--job, getting laid off from the job, having a child--but now I'm getting back into the hobby. Not sure if I'll game as well as work on miniatures, but working on miniatures is the starting point.

I was born the year you started gaming, lol! I consider myself a mature gamer though, and can relate. My wife had our first baby (girl) 16 mo ago - that and a mortgage can get in the way of solid gaming that's for sure. But it sure does encourage this hobby, as it's really not that expensive in relation to the amount of time you can spend fiddling with little men! Cheap entertainment once you've got an army.

How is it they live in such harmony - the billions of stars - when most men can barely go a minute without declaring war in their minds about someone they know.
