Reading the new 'dex I was struck by the point that all Tyranid models fall into three basic types; (1) Four legged with two fore limbs, (2) two legged with four fore limbs (3) snake body.
I thought it would be quite striking to make a whole army with snake bodies for everything. Some conversion would be needed to adapt some creatures like the Hive Tyrant and the Gaunts. If I did it, I would aim to make the tails for the Gaunts out of resin, and make the bigger creatures's out of putty.
Has anyone done this and are there any pictures?

Have a look at my B'Bury thread for my Swarm Lord as a start. No reason not to use raveners, I've got 9, plus you get a spare lower body with each set which a warrior body will sit on nicely. Will try to get pictures tomorrow.

I agree it would be a cool look, especially snakey hormagaunts.
The only downside would be avoiding confusion with the 'official' snakey models, e.g. a trygon would be a great base for a snakey Hive Tyrant conversion, but obviously you want the resulting model to not look too much like a Trygon... Similarly you wouldn't want your snakey Warriors to be confused with Raveners.
But a little extra work during the conversions should solve that - give them different looking carapaces or heads or something. (hmm, or maybe use a different look for the traditional snakey models? - e.g. make spidery trygons and Raveners? A cool look, but of course hurts the idea of and all snakey army... ) Maybe extra-long snakey tails for trygons and Raveners, and everyone else gets 'normal' length snakey tails?
